Okay, I understand. But I do want you to know I was a little bit upset at first.
First of all, the titles of my little movies NEVER tell the name of the original effect. Second, there are already TONS of demo video's at magic websites like Ellusionist where those annoying little kiddies can watch it a thousand times to reverse engineer it. So my personal believe is that there's nothing wrong with a YouTube performance provided they are decent performances and no secrets are exposed (on purpose). And I do believe mine do meet that criteria. Yes, I thought the cover was to long too, but it was for a very good reason. I used a fairly big coin that couldn't fit through the opening of the neck of the bottle. I will experiment more with it, it would be shame to use a coin that's a lot smaller. How do we do this then? Such a movie is easily 50 MB, how can I send it another way if you REALLY insist? |

Hehe don't lose sleep over it man it's only a suggestion.
Ultimately, it's up to you if you want to or not. Don't let people pressure you into doing things you don't want to. You could try using yousendit if you wanted to try an alternative ( http://www.yousendit.com ) |

Lol...
You don't need to worry about me requesting the use of an alternative, I just would rather things be kept off youtube... don't feel pressurised or anything. It was more a suggestion |

Hep patrick66, I think you can just put back your video on youtube with Factory Sealed for title !
A quick search on youtube and I find this : Factory sealed http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VP3q5HSR44 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uq03o0Tnofc&NR=1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VY6Bpa69iIY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htUr86La0rk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtOSyH_CudA Bullet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRUmU43_Eq4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qB3pl8pvCfw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KlBjnMWolfg From memory, I think your video and performance of factory sealed was much better ! Bullet look REALLY bad in those youtube links... I even ask myself...this is bullet !? Probably very poor performance ! Nicolas |

Many thanks Nicolas for posting these links from YouTube here. They were all EXCELLENT performances, in MY opinion. I had never really seen F.S. done, except the short trailer/demo from E.. I prefer to watch a GOOD DEMO on YouTube when it's available. Fortunately, no one has exposed.
From the demo's on there, I definitely feel that F.S. is a MUCH stronger effect. Bullet is good, but not worth the extra money in my opinion, when you have effects like F.S. or Abyss. I agree with many others on here that F.S. and Bullet should have been included on one DVD. I've only owned Prohibition, which I traded shortly after receiving, due to the 'glass bottle'. I don't frequent bars anymore, and that's the only place really to have access to glass bottles here. I also purchased V.I.P. several months back, but once I got it, and learned the setup, I put it on my shelf. The effect is nice, but not the setup. I think that Factory Sealed has opened up major new doors for this NOW Classic effect. It just doesn't get much more VISUAL than this. I haven't purchased yet, but am seriously considering. All the Best... smitty |

After having read and talked to some fellow magicians, it is sad that Factory Sealed has a big downside. Because of the enormous hype, we all suspected some revolutionary technique. When we learned what the method was and how simple it is, a lot of us, including myself, were very disappointed at first.
BUT, after playing with it for a couple of hours I got really enthousiastic. And I performed it today for a co-worker and she was blown away, had NO idea how I did it. This is an highly underestimated effect, just practice this and perform it for people. Try to think back to the "virgin" mindset you had when you didn't know the method and how blown away you were by the effect. |

Papawemba, thanks man, you made me smile. Even Nick was pleased with my performance although I still continue practicing it.
I will put it back on somewhere in the near future. |

I think that the Second Version of 'Factory Sealed' is one of the finest & most visual effects on the DVD. As rightly suggested (on the DVD), the effect should be done very slowly with full spectator participation. And if done correctly, it's a GREAT illusion.
Said that, I have a little suggestion. When the fingers are spread while the coin is held between the middle finger & the bottle, at this stage (when the coin penetration is about to take place) place your thumb on the top edge rim of the bottle (for support) and then with the middle finger give the soft portion of the plastic bottle a slight upward push (flick push). The plastic will make a distinct crackling sound and also will make the coin slightly jump inside the bottle. Then slowly lower & move away the hand. A very visual & realistic coin penetration takes place. Those who have the effect will be able to understand. Enjoy!

Great idea ustaad that would help give an audible as well as a visual penetration to the spectator to help reinforce the fact that it just went right thru the plastic. Will definatley be including this in my performances

Jordanjohnson, yes the audio-visual penetration creates a GREAT illusion. REAL MAGIC happens right under the nose & in the hands of the spectator(s). I have tried it (with the add-on suggested) just once (so far ) on a live audience & have got jaw dropping reaction. It left the spectators stunned. This one version of the effect that is worth the price of the DVD.
I must say 'Factory Sealed' by Nick Verna is one of the finest & well though out effect. And ofcourse, Justin is an excellent teacher.

At zeros degrees I have used the pop variation at times. Now, here is some fun...(performance with label still on) Try practicing popping the coin in while the bottle is at zero degrees (2nd version) and having the coin land in the bottle somewhere on the section of the bottle where the label is. By having that inner white part of the label as the background is pure eye candy that the coin is now in fact inside the bottle. A convincing verification. Ustaad, I sent you a PM on some other things I think you'll enjoy also.

The reactions I've been getting with Factory Sealed so far have been nothing short of incredible. I performed Factory Sealed at a housewarming party last night and it was the first time performing FS at a paid gig but it definitely delivered and it will now be a permament part of my routine. I did the original method once as a warm-up and I swear this 30-something year old looked like her eyes were about to pop out of their sockets. I then did the surrounded version an hour later to a group of 5 very bored teenagers, and then word quickly spread and I pretty much had to it again half an hour later with resulted in an even better reaction because this time I used the quarter version which I was able to set up fairly quickly but with a different method taught on the DVD. I think what really sold the illusion was I used the water bottles the host provided and the type that the guests were drinking so they didn't think there were any gaffs in the bottle. I then closed my set for the night with the usual Hundy500, but I think Factory Sealed was what most of the guests are going to remember, and I've just been performing FS for less than a week! It's that easy to learn! I can't recommend this DVD enough after trying it out in the field and seeing how practical and easy it is and the spectators love it. I'm not an ellusionist fanboy or anything like that, I'm just a satisfied customer.
Unleashing the moment of astonishment, one impromptu situation at a time.

The suitability of a routine/effect will (and always) depend on the type of audience one is entertaining. Magic must be a source of pleasure and entertainment. The audience must go home happy and relaxed but at the same time they must also have something to think and wonder - How did he do that?
And Factory Sealed is one of those astonishing effects the spectators will remember for times to come.

I have yet to really perform these.
I haven't had the time to really watch through both Bullet and Factory Sealed since my family has been out in the living room. I've performed Bullet once at a friends house because I'm comfortable doing it in practice and it was very nice seeing the reaction I got. |
