Agreed.
Andrew, (ASW)
The effects on the DVD and lecture notes are far beyond your abilities. (They require mastery of the mechanic's grip.) It would only break your heart. Sincerely, Darwin Ortiz.......(This post has got to be in my top 5.) |

I am not involved with the project, but Titanas has shown me the entire DVD. Here is my take on it:
The demo and video are very simply done ans straight forward, not melodramatic. The demos don't have a lot of hype, but rather are honest with regards to what you see and get. One thing that Titanas does very well though is develop utility moves. His Titanic Deck for instance could allow for dozens of effects. Titanas is also a really nice fellow to deal with and usually offers support forums and such where he is always sharing new ideas and effects to expand onw hat he starts with. Basically, Fade is a utility move/device or sorts, one which is subtle and far easier to learn that sleeving for instance, but that can allow for a LOT of really clean effects. Basically it can allow for transpositions and vanishes of a variety of small objects. I understand it is going to be released through a shop in the UK, and available as a download, but you'd have to get details from him. What I would say is, since the price is going to be kept pretty reasonable, and the basic move can be used for a TON of different impomptu or semi impromtu magic, it will be a worthwhile idea to add to your bank of skills and techniques. If you are looking for some stunning new single trick DVD that is a one shot deal, this isn't it. If you like to learn techniques and utility moves that are versatile, and you perform in a setting similar to what you see on the demo, I think you will find some good food for though as well as some ready made routines that leave you very clean. Titanas is a member of the Café, so I am sure you can PM him if you have a specific question. And, while you're at it, ask to see the pictures of his new baby!

Titanas, I thought you were not releasing this until next year. I love this utility move. Very clean, excellent technique that will help many. I will buy the dvd for sure. I want to see what that mind of yours has come up with in routining and presentaion. Please direct all questions to the creator, I can only comment on the move, not the dvd.

We really need to get out of the Mtv mode of camera work. Those vids were awfully hard to watch.

Interesting thread!
I own some of Titanis items and have also joined the forums he has created. My personal experience and the general consensus is that the items he offers are solid and reasonably priced. I personally found the Titanic Deck one of the most useful items I ever bought (in terms of what your audience experiences). So unless Titanis cheats on us, the vids need to be seen more than 2-3 times in order to understand what the effects are about (maybe some of you didn't have time to watch them additional times). And the effects (especially the coin bending one) seem to me at least really worthwhile and visual. If, on top of that, they are 100% impromptu then I would really like to know whether I may find more info about them. I chase like mad clean and impromptu effects - that's my perfroming style. So please if anyone knows or owns "Fade", please provide some further info. (I will try to PM him too because on his site no such item is for sale yet). rgds |

I watched these clips several times, and I must say...I am very excited about this. All the moves/effects look quite magical.
Anything that affords me the opportunity to put together a very magical 'impromptu ROUTINE'...I am interested. As a full time restaurant performer,I of course have a plethora of routines I can perform while standing. What I really like here is that all of these effects seemingly can be performed while casually 'sitting' around...whether at a pub or in someones living room.Hey,when I can amaze folks without even moving my butt out of my chair well that's what I call relaxed performance. Titanis is a very creative thinker so when he comes out with something I pay attention[The Titanic deck was one of my best purchases in 2006]. I look forward anxiously for the release of this...whether a DVD or download. Rich |

This is a nice idea that I am not sure I have seen before but, unfortunately for the creator, video 2 does completely give the game away even on first viewing.

Well it just looks to me as one of the effects form Dai Vernon's Book of Magic. Trick is called Leipzig's Coin on the Knee. I haven't paid attention to the demo video, but I must say it looks like exactly same trick.
It is quite sad that people are so anxious about objects being borrowed and signed, that they forget about effect.

Once again, the amateur 'experts' crawl out of the woodwork to spew their negativity without actually knowing the whole story about something that hasn't even been released yet....or apparently isn't even close to being released.
My bet is, Mr.Titanis posted those clips for reasons other than having them 'non-constructively' critiqued on an open forum. The clips seem to have been discovered by accident. In the spirit of fair play,we should allow a creator to go through the process of development, before 'negatively' commenting. |

Hi
I Found this thread so I wanted to make a small post about FADE. First of all, AS MUST OF YOU know, Titanas is my partner, so it might look like this is me making a good review about my partner´s product. BUT NOOOOO, this is not that. So I just wanted to say that Titanas doesn't know about this thread since he has this project a secret, but I ll make sure that I will let him know about. The promos wasn't for the public but for wholesalers e.t.c Now about FADE: When Titanas showed me this amazing effect I was keep on rewind it and got fooled everytime, when he shared with me the workings, I was even MORE fooled than before. All I can say is that none should judge a project that is not up yet and someone can only speculate. Fade is not just the vanishing of a coin, is a totally new impromptu sleigh that will allow you to do : vanishes, switches, metamophosis, etc. I bet that when THE TIME FOR THE RELEASING comes, titanas will answer all your doubts. thanks you pals bye |

If I were a TV star I would use camera tricks etc. If I were a stage magician, many props would be justified. BUT for me borrowing, signing and ending clean as well as other subtle points can make the difference. I must wait for a review of the product in question but the coin bending routine was very visual, strong and convincing - nice e f f e c t, clean and super visual. But again, some kind of review will throw some more light here. Am I wrong?!? rgds |
