Ms.F made a big deal about representing for the ladies, and then she went on about how we could play in this boys game, and how she wanted to be an inspiration to young girls to be able compete with the boys.
All she inspired me to do was to have a pole installed in my bedroom so I could practice dancing and collecting dollars from gapping lads. Had she only had some integrity and tried to sell the act in a coprorate type of attire (proper suit) instead of resorting to the cheesy sex appeal thing, she might have been taken half seriously. Honey if your reading this your way out of you're league and please don't inspire little girls to lift their dresses up to their _ _ _ _ for ratings. Get a pants suit and learn some presentation skills not posing skills will ya, and then you'll be competing on equal ground ! But do you have the talent to pull that off ? Sid |

Wholly is the manner in which I agree with you.
She needs to pick up a book on feminism, preferably one penned by Hooks. /paul.f |

It was a moving presentation, however. When she was done, there wasn't a dry fly in the house.

I think that the thing that people are overlookinga out this show is that NBC is pulling the strings. Angela's performance style never involved her trying seduce the audience so I am sure that is something she has been told to do.
I really wish that NBC would just let her, and the other performers, just be themselves and do their regular material instead of everyone doing a roulette style stunt. |

As said months ago, I still say AF will be in the final two.

She competes in beauty pageants.
Her intro on Phenomenon featured her bragging about how she used to have her dad wrapped around her finger. She resorted to cheesy sex appeal in her performance, as already pointed out. I found it impossible to take her seriously for any and all of the above reasons. I think the show should have begun with equal numbers of male and female performers, but since it had only one they certainly could have chosen better. Funovits a role model for young girls? I hope not. --Mike |

Okay, just to play devil's advocate, and then run and hide. . . why must she give up her sexuality/sensuality in order to be taken seriously? Come on!
What would Wavy do?

She's young, pretty, intelligent, talented. And she did as well as any of them, so I'd say she put her magic where her mouth was.
Personally, I don't think it's a crime for a woman to wear a dress and look good in public. Sounds like sour grapes, to me. This thread should be called Phenomenal chick-ens. |

I could do without the giggling, but other than that, I think she's hanging in there fairly well.
Once, at a little small town gig I wore a dress similar to the one AF wore...ironically the audience members burned my leg with a huge torch...and that wasn't even supposed to be part of the effect. D. |

Here's a hypothetical for you, Mark. Imagine one of the contestants was a male who was a dead ringer for a young Brad Pitt. Suppose he came out dressed in a skintight tanktop and giggled incessantly while performing an over-the-counter effect. Would you take him seriously? --Mike |

Leave the poor girl alone, she is young and being led by the producers of the show. They have been pushing the image we see since before the show aired, the Mysterious Woman in Red. At 20 years old, she is going along with what the experienced people on the program (the producers) tell her to do. Heck, the guys in their 40's are doing the same. If you have something to say about a performance, by all means say it, but don't insult her, or any of the performers on a personal level. That is crass and demeans all of us here. Bad form! Tony |

Wow. She's attractive, wears a short skirt and gets bashed here. Why should she divorce her sexuality from her performing persona? Why should she be held to any different standards than musicians, dancers, actresses, figure skaters and countless other performers who have some kind of sex appeal and don't hesitate to use it?
