I'm getting quite a few e-mails regarding Pyrokinetic so here's some further info on what is involved -

I initially wanted to make a clean self lighting candle effect i.e. one that did not use a fake candle, one with batteries inside etc. I just wanted to be able to walk up to a candle on stage, just concentrate on it and boom! it's alight! The candle could then be fully inspected or even given away.

I've come up with a method and it works great. Just place your hands (with sleeves rolled up if you wish!) about 1 ft. away (or further or closer!)from the candle and the wick will ignite! Any candle can be used, it takes a few second to prep and it's clean. The gimmick can also be used to ignite other materials or items such as bowls of oil, paper billets etc.

So there you go, a sneak preview. I'm not sure about cost yet, it'll probably be a 'build it yourself' guide as the parts are cheap and easy to obtain so let's say £19.99?

Anyway, back to the workshop!

How much further away can you be? I am working on a Spirit Cabinet routine and I want the final manifestation to occur with the curtain open and the entranced medium seen motionless while the manifestation takes place! Any ideas - anyone?

I'm definitely looking forward to this... it'll add that extra 'oomph' to the seance I'm putting together.

I have to echo an above question, though: how far can you be from the candle/bowl of oil/whatever you want to ignite?

That does indeed sound fantastic. I have been searching for such a method for a long time, and if it were anyone but Lebanon Circle, I might not believe it! Up 'til now, the Yogi's Gaze, from the Art of Eddie Joseph, was the one usually recommended, (or else some complex mechanical gizmo) but this... wow! This looks incredible!

Could this possibly be but one chapter in an upcoming Lebanon Circle Compendium of Bizarre Magic Vol. 2? I've really enjoyed the nut and bolt methods revealed in the first Volume.

I am a hollow reed....

Thanks for making your methods available! I look forward to your Pyrokinetic methods in what ever delivery method they come!

Last I heard, Dan told me June, so I'm getting excited... but it seems to be gone from the website. Now I'm nervous... Any chance of an update, Dan? You haven't scrapped it, have you..?

Would the principle for this work to ignite a piece of paper treated with FUSE?
