On Halloween I performed at the
Stanwood hotel. There was a paranormal researcher there during my performance and she was convinced that I had supernatural powers lol. Anyways the show went so well that the owners want me back on a regular basis. What I was thinking is this would be a great venue for a seance performance. It is the perfect place for a bizarre performance as everyone is geared up for seeing hauntings and the like. The field is open now how should I proceed? This is too good to pass up. Any thoughts? You are right, it sounds like a great venue for seances. If it is practical to move around a bit, ghost hunts would be a winner as well.

Hi Michael,
If this is too good to pass up, why are wasting time asking for thoughts? Go to work! Best, Neil

Its in Washington.
I'm not passing it up lol just not sure how I should set it up, charge, or how often I should do it. Should I do spook show or subtle seance? |

If they want you for multiple engagements, I would set it up so that each show sets up for the next.
1st show, a subtle seance Next show a less subtle seance Show after that, a ghost hunt One more show, a banishment of the wicked spirits awakened by the first three shows (Done at the "Hot Spot" location found in the ghost hunt) the "Big Finale" show. This will help you to draw in a growing crowd. They'll keep coming back and bringing their friends- They will want to know what happens next. Just m'thoughts. Gwyd |

From what she tells me she wants to promote it for an ongoing venue.
with no end as long as we make money. I performed there for Halloween and she made more money with me there then with the bands so she wants to keep a good thing as she says. lol I like the progression of it but then do I start over or just find one of the other spirits? lol She is renovating the hotel come first of the year so that people can actually stay in it so that we may do an all night seance and ghost hunt. there really is no boundaries here with her. |

I would recommend doing a Theatrical Seance.
Research the history of the place; I'm sure you'll find a few good stories and "ghosts" on which to pull from. Since you're in my neck of the woods, if you want some help, just let me know... :devilish:

Use the "Spirit Table".
This is the best for seance...the table moves by itself. If you need more details, pm me pls. Cheers, CC |

That's good advice from Philemon, Michael.
If I can be of any help, let me know also. (My ongoing show has certainly been successful for my haunted venue.) Best, Neil

Any and all help will be accepted as I will run through so much material it's not funny lol.
Being new to bizarre it makes it a challenge lol. If it were just magic I could perform forever as that is where I focused 30 years. But I love the new style so I will learn and grow while I perform it. Thanks all for the encouragement and support. Setting up the format is the first step..... I am considering ordering some of higleys products, they just may fit the bill here. Some of the research I have gotten so far has a multiple murderer that spent his time at the hotel...Which as it turned out to be a brothel back then his target was women of the night <new ripper>. His room was room 9. The madam of the house was killed in there as well. Then it was part hospital part hotel. The loggers spent a lot of time there. It is reputed to be haunted by at least one logger, the madam, the next female owner, a child, and the killer. It is the oldest building in the area. The hotel itsself has not been used in years but the saloon on the bottom floor has been used. She wants to open up the hotel again, so I was selling her on the idea of playing up the hauntings and promoting a sleep-in with the ghosts. She is gungho for any ideas I put to her so now is the time for me to work out the details and get er done. There are so many haunted house type places out here that one can make fulltime work just performing at a few. So this is where I am at so far. |

There's nothing like a good murder mystery to use as the basis of a theatrical séance...
Begin by presenting various artifacts of the period and explaining the history of each. As it will turn out, each item will have an important part to play in the mystery that will unfold. When you, as the medium, go into your trance, you'll begin channeling the spirits of the various prostitutes who are in a state of unrest because the identity of their murderer is unknown. Step by step, the various stories are woven together, and each artifact is brought into play as their part in the mystery is revealed. Finally, the spirit of the Madam is channeled, and she holds the final piece of the puzzle, as she reveals that the killer was none other than one of her frequent "guests." At the climax, she screams that an evil presence has invaded the circle. Now is the time for a full blackout, and allow all your favorite dark séance effects to have full reign. When order is finally restored (and the lights are turned back on), you'll leave them with one final twist that will keep them talking long after the night is done...

Oh, nice touch.
Now the artifacts, should they be found on the location through the medium? |
|||||||||
Philemon Vanderbeck Inner circle Seattle, WA 4694 Posts |
Certainly. If you begin the experience with a "ghost walk," you can "find" the artifacts along the tour route, and explain the history of each. You can collect them as you go, and then place them on the table when you reach the séance room.

Ok, I like how this is coming out. Now I need to decide what artifacts to collect and the dressing up of my stage/table.
