My copy of Vol 2 just arrived about an hour ago. Already I've found items I intend to work on. One is a very clever Paul Fox card in wallet concept that I think would be a real fooler. Another is a ring on wand item. I for one certainly don't regret ordering this or Vol 1.
By the way, this copy came wrapped in bubble wrap...no newspaper in sight. So the book arrived in perfect condition. And L & L, as per their offer, sent me the same numbered book as my Vol 1. Probably a hassle for them but a nice touch I think. |

I can say that the first volume is full of fun items to work on. The tricks are not full fleshed out ready to take off the page and into a venue but they are certainly ideas that can be worked out and made to be performance pieces.
I would HIGHLY recommend getting a copy of Volume 1 if you can. I wonder what a full set will go for?? Jay |

I just got an email from L&L that says there are less than 40 copies left. I ordered late in the game and got mine last week. I'm already working on material from V2. Great stuff!

So the Chronicles are supposed to be based on these notebooks also.
How much of them, the notebooks, is there in the Chronicles?
Nothing would get done at all, if man waited so long that no one could find fault with it.

There is items from the Cervon Notebooks in the Vernon Chronicles, but there is MUCH MUCH more. The notebooks contain items by Mr. Diaconis, Cervon's notes and obsession with block transfers, A ton of Vernon things, a variety of useful and somewhat difficult to decipher information.
The biggest downfalls I see are the lack of a full bleed to the pages, which makes it seem like a book of photos of the original notebooks and shrinks the print size from the original format, and the lack of fully fleshed out items. Then again if you are one to search and unconver brilliance, these notebooks are probably perfect for you. I can't imagine more than a handful of people will take these notebooks, mine, refine and polish these gems, then present them to the world. I would highly recommend getting a hold of Vol 1 and 2 (even thought vol 2. is smaller than vol 1) These are sure to continue to rise in price as the years go by. I would not wait too much longer to get copies! Jay |
