Does anyone have any ideas (beside the C.I.B effect) that uses a folding quarter?

"The New Coin Wand" from the early 1900's.. In "Expert Coin Magic" David Roth has a "Folding Coins Through Table" and a "Folding Coins Across".

At a George Shindler lecture he put a coin in bill and pushed the rolled up package thru a finger ring.

You can do the bite-out coin with them.

The bite out of a coin always gets a great response, then, you can always just switch them wityh anouther piece.

Paul Harris: Broken and Restored Coin (from Supermagic).
You tell how someone bit your coin to test it and broke it into three pieces, you put the pieces into your hand, and wave a lighter under it, welding the coin back together. I think with a little guts, this could be done in the spectators hand. |

The (borrowed/switched) coin through (borrowed) finger ring, wrapped in a (borrowed) dollar bill is great. That's how I use my Mercedes Bends...

I live in Sweden, and I think that there only is one folding coin available in swedish currency. I bought it after having read "coin in bottle" in bobos book, but the elastics breaks everytime I get it out of the bottle, and if I use double elastics the coin is almost impossible to get out. I have tried different bottles, and some are better than others, but none are really good.
Does anybody else have this problem, or is the problem in the quality of my folding coin? I love doing the bite-out coin, differs a lot from other cointricks where coins often dissapears, appears and penetrates. Pardon my spelling. |

See George Schindler for his coin through wedding ring.

Bob,
I'm currently using a variation of the Schindler effect, and also I learned it at one of his lectures. I'm at a loss to find it in print anywhere--do you know of a source? It's one of those classic effects that seems like it should have been around forever, but I've never seen anyone do it besides George. Frankly, I'm surprised to see two people mention it here, and it's nice to see it's remembered.

Curtis,
I've used the George Schindler effect since the mid 70's, when he lectured in our area. I saw George lecture again a few months ago, so I'm reminded that the only place I've ever seen it in print is in his lecture notes, " Entertainment First!" |
