Well, this still haunts me, but after spending some time on this quest to hunt down this elusive but powerful organization, I did find one tangible and quite remarkable piece of evidence:
The Sanctum card. It's unquestionably a code and a trails of clues, an ancient mystery, and maybe even a clue to a murder (not kidding). A portal to a room that few have entered, and a great treasure and justification for my search so far. I believe it should not be treated lightly because it's a thing of great power. If you still want to know what the Sanctum is, I will tell you to the extent that you are allowed to know. Sanctum as you may have already assumed by the name, is an organization entrusted with the preservation of very old knowledge. Knowledge older than the Sphinx, older than the building of the great stone circles. Unfortunate developments in human evolution have forced this knowledge underground. As it is, I don't have a whole picture but fragments of a hole picture. I now want to meet, discuss, decipher and experiment with some of you, because this way, as a group, we can slowly add fragments to what has been forgotten. I dreamt of this quote last night, and since I keep a notebook bedside, I wrote it down exactly the way I had seen it in my dream. I think it relates and I'd like to share it: We looke at manye devious ways of Planting a seede in The minde of the acolyte. A seede which will grow into a Curious tree, Well after ye have gone.

I have to agree, David, so little is known about this hidden group of scientists, mystics, freemasons, card-sharps and con-men. So little known, and yet, what a terrifying global influence they have had.

Since I started to try to find out more about this particular group of people I have been having many reoccurring dreams. Interesting you speak of a room… One of these dreams involves a room… small fragments seem to be revealed to me a little more each time I see the room… Could this be the room you speak of? I want to know more, I simply can’t resist but the harder I try the more it slips away. Maybe I just need to accept it and let *it* come to me? I am not sure but it’s almost as if someone or something… wants me to find out information about it for myself… I feel sure that as I piece together more and more information about this that I will also become intrigued as to just what secrets this room holds |

Here's something else I've just recently found out:
Sanctum, or some such organization, has its roots in antiquity. First references to a group called Sanctome were found in an obscure old English manuscript attributed to the 10th century monk Aelfric. He warns of: Sanctome fyrene fremman feond on helle... This in turn is a reference to an old Persian text that has not been recovered, and God knows, the group were referred to as being ancient even in the early Anglo Saxon chronicles.

I think that I may have mentioned on one of these threads, that I destroyed my Sanctum Card, due to the odd dreams that I was starting to get. Well, I must tell you of something strange - one of my students (I teach Tourism Technology to 6th form students - about 15 miles away from where I live)- said that he found a weird looking business card in the car park - as he is aware of my interest in the bizarre, he assumed that it was mine.
'What does the card look like?' I asked tentatively. 'Well, there is a lot of weird Masonic looking stuff on the front - and a strange looking - photo, at least I think it is a photo, on the back....' He really did not need to say anymore. I asked him to bring it into College - but he refused to do so, saying that as he found it, it was his to keep. In the days that followed, a sort of 'craving' developed - I really wanted to get the card back, or get the Card away from Jim (not his real name). I asked him again, later in the week, he looked nervous and clearly was lying when he told me that he had lost it. Now this will sound silly, but I am sure that it IS the card I thought I had destroyed. Don't ask me how, but I just know - I have no idea how it got to where it did, other than by a hallucination that I had cut it up. Perhaps I had dropped it when I got out of my car..... I don't know anymore. I am not sure what to do - I really need the card back, and I do not want Jim to have the card. I have asked repeatedly, but he refuses to hand it over. Also, he has not been around now for a couple of weeks. I have thought about getting another from Outlaw Effects, obviously - but, it would not seem right somehow. I would gladly help Alexandre in his quest for truth, but I have no idea where to start. I have had certain odd dreams about going up a spiral staircase and through a stone archway, and into a room that looks like the room on the card - only it is different, I don't know, sort of more like an old empty ruin of a castle. But this is all I know, I have had no sense of being followed or anything strange happening in my 'real' life, other than the incident with the card........

Subgenial, I think you should find out more about this kid, home phone number, etc, and get that card back. Offer him a video game for it, cash, candy.
I want to talk to you further about your perceived hallucination. PM me. And for those of you thinking this is some kind of creative marketing ploy for Outlaw Effects, I suggest you might be right, so move on to better, safer things, there's nothing here for you. I will say the amount of hits this thread has gotten frightens me, I can't help but think that some outside the Café are reading.

unless someone is playing a joke on me, or Outlaw's customer service is really psychic and has access to my bank details...then I want to know what's going on...
I've asked to be banned

I can't recommended destroying the card.
You have to figure that if it got you in...you might just need it to get you out. Follow? I keep it close. |

Regardless of the emails, I will continue to research this shadowy group, and my whole experience with this has been both an interest and an obsession. The more I find out, the more the facts elude me. The closer I get, the cloudier these figures become.
Does the group still exist? Did they ever? If they do, where do they meet and for what purpose? What are their links with the Freemasons, the Illuminati and other such groups? How many important and influential figures belonged, or still belong, to the group? What influence have they had? What are they doing in the world right now? I'm keeping it close, Eddie, though I'm not entirely sure why....

Anoyone reading this who is genuinely confused, concerned or even slightly wary of buying 'sanctum-2' from outlaw effect, relax. This is just a whole load of, well a whole load. Relax, there is nothing scary about owning sanctum. This is just a thread of people who don't have enough shows to do/have nothing better to do.
And in case this annoys you guys, well I'm not sorry. Your last thread abut this thing actually made several people I know say 'I'm not getting it, I don't want to upset some secret society...'. So I know for a fact that you have cost Roth several sales. Is that good? I don't think so. I just thought that needed clearing up. You can go back to your silly little game now. |

Can I clarify this matter once and for all.
Sanctum Sanctuary, is a mentalist's tool. It was developed by DrS with the full agreement of Sanctum Chapter 4. The aim was to identify certain individuals who have 'abilities'. However, DrS gave out too much information that could lead the average 'hobbyist' to develop abilities that would not be 'appropriate'. The people we seek have now been identified and contacted. I can assure you of these things. Sanctum does exist and the information contained in the book does obliquely refer to real events in our history. If you have Sanctum and have not been contacted, you are of no interest to us and having the card does not pose any threat, real or imagined. There have been some, shall we say, speculative, posts on this forum. Anyone who has Sanctum - Sanctuary, knows what a powerful tool it indeed is. These people I think are trying to discourage people from buying Sanctuary to keep this to themselves. I certainly do not wish any more to be sold. Some individuals are aware of certain 'aspects' of Sanctum and are quite desperate to join at a higher level. Again, if you have not been contacted, you will hear no more of the organisation. Some, and I think I would include many of the posts here in this category, own the card and have become fascinated by the room, due to taking visits to it themselves. There is an interesting history that we are investigating, however it is very unlikely that this will be of any interest to the general layman. If anyone does think that they have found out anything significant, I would like you to send me a message - in total confidentiality. To sum up - I agree with the earlier poster - this talk needs to stop. If you have Sanctum-Sanctuary, it poses NO threat, we simply are not interested, we have what we want. You will have information that was secret, but - well, my view is enjoy it, the damage is done! We do not really care about people delving into the history - I can understand the motivation - performing an 'effect', as you will call it, and then showing research into our history, certain websites and information to add depth to what you do. Those of you who have Sanctum Sanctuary will know it's worth. I doubt whether these speculations have stopped a single person from owning it. If it has.... Good, you have made the right decision. The card is totally harmless, if used right. I would discourage those of you who are travelling to the room as a sort of 'hobby' and by yourselves. This is just common-sense. On a final note - the next phase of Sanctum will be released very soon. It is sanctioned, and can only be obtained from Outlaw Effects. Although we have had our disagreements, we feel that DrS was to blame and that Outlaw Effects have always behaved with decorum and sensitivity. S3 will only be available to owners of S2, and only to those who specifically ask. You will need to pm me for details, or get specific information from the Outlaw Effects website - but in due time. Those of you that think that this is all sales hype - good, please continue to do so. Sanctum certainly do not need any of your money, our motivation is in development. |

I agree entirely with the last post.
I bought a Sanctum card on the first day of release - I have nothing but praise for it. I doubt very much if a secret society called Sanctum actually exists - but do you know what? I do not care! These guys are NOT fools playing a silly game - do you not get it? Can you think of another effect that you can buy that has such a rich background? Try out any of the effects on the card, then point your audience to any of these debates or to any of the many 'mysterious' websites that have sprung up - I tell you the effect is far beyond anything else you can do in mentalism. It is the equivalent of painting 'Your card is the Queen of Hearts' on your roof, and flying your audience over in a jumbo jet. If you have not figured this out - it is YOU who are the fools! |

I have just realized that since I purchased Sanctum II last month, I won twice with the pick 3 lottery. Coincidence? I think not.
