O.K., I recently ordered all my new magic tricks for my birthday, that I plan on starting as soon as I get the order, and one of these tricks is the cups and balls, and it will be my first time ever experimenting with them.
However, for the last couple of weeks, I can't stop watching videos on youtube of the cups and balls. For some reason I find them EXTREMELY AMAZING, especially the Michael Ammar routine... Don't know why, it's not super exciting, it's just done so well, I can't stop watching, I will literally spend maybe 2 hours a day browsing on the internet watching the cups and balls, and browsing around this forum. I have also grown a liking to tommy wonder's cups and balls routine. It's a little weird. I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO DO THE TRICK, and I am already planning out how I will say it, how I will present it, and I almost have down to the last part. Is this unhealthy???

Not at all. Welcome to the club.

Yeah, the cups and balls can do that to you. But don't worry, it will neither cause cancer nor heart disease
Good luck practicing and creating your routine. It's one of the most versatile tricks ever created and you'll have a ball (!) playing around with various presentations. Tina |

You are absolutely normal. Once you start learning you will be even more addicted. I too watch a lot of cups and balls videos. Now if I practiced cups and balls as much as I watched videos, looked at cups online, and read forums, I would be a master at the cups and balls by now... But sadly, this is not the case.

I am so eager to get my cups and balls set described above. I was practicing with small bowls and marshmallows, and my cat was near by and he hit the cup and broke it!!!! lol.

Small bowls and marshmallows? Hmmmm, you just might already have a distinctive routine!
How about using mini-cups with the little marshmallows and regular-size for a final load. You can even eat the loads! Andy

Reminds me of an old vaudeville act where the performer had some props that were edible and he ate them at the end.
Oh, what I meant to say to ray-Mago: First learn to handle the props well, and start with the Vernon routine until you can do the moves without thinking about them. And try to NOT look at the props... look at the audience (real or imagined).

Excellent advice Pete! And holds true for learning ANY routine.

For me it is getting harder to stay away from the computer and get to practice.

I suffer from the same addiction afflictions as most of the gang here! I also identify with those who spend too much time surfing the net instead of practicing!
Both my C&B collection and my Internet-provided knowledge of the same far exceed my talent and abilities with these wonderful props! Mick |

I think that if I spent the same amount of time practicing my C&B routine that I spend on this and other websites, my routine would be superb.
