At this time I only have a set of DREAM silicone balls...hopefully some of you are familiar with this set....I know Fakini's are said to be the best...I was just wondering if there was anyone out there who has come into contact with both sets that could shed their opinion on the subject.....I know the DREAM balls are slightly smaller...I would say somewhere just shy of 1.75". I would be interested in a 1.75" set of fakinis.....in white and then try to get an additional color or two or certain moves...any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks

The dream balls are a knock off of Fakini. Stick with the original.
They are slightly smaller because when the guy ripped it off from Italy, I believe) he used metrics instead of english measurements. Richard

Also the shell on the dreams are horrid. They look nothing like the ball, as a matter of fact if you're under a light you can even see through them a bit. Fakini shells are coated with the same silicone that the ball has. The size of course is also something you may want to go a little bigger on, it's tough to see those tiny things well on a stage.

Fakini balls are really great. They are a little expensive but I think it is a normal price for these balls. You can have a wonderful act with these balls.

But they had been used for manipulation purposes (mainly juggling) before that. I don't think that the Dream Balls should be classed as knock-offs. Having said that, Frank Radtke has done a great job in creating the S****. That is the real secret to a good set. Otherwise you could just buy Dubé balls.

I think they should be classified as a knock off since the guy making them was turned down as a distributor in Europe.
Silicon balls have been around. But it took Frank Radtke to put them to the proper use in magic and to make them correctly. Richard

I would really like to get my hands on a 1.75" set of whites...and then have an extra ball or two in another color...possibly the pink, as I felt they stood out very brightly on McBrides video series....is denny and lee my only chance at getting them? or can I contact the House of Fakini directly for a custom order....in case I wanted to throw in a flash finale or diminishing....etc...??

Denny sells the flash finale and diminishing and all that, they run out of them quickly though, you might want to Email to find out what they have in stock.

Frank Radtke is the man if you need silicone balls. He made me a set of Rubik's Cube type balls for my Rubik's Cube Manipulation. Again, stick to the BEST.....Fakini!

The Dream balls are just too small.

Has anyone used the Gorilla Grip multiplying balls? Are they good?

The "DREAM" gimmick seems to be a ping pong ball cut in half. It IS noticeably different appearance from the regular balls. The different material and feel between the s**** and the regular balls makes them more difficult to work with IMO.

The "Dream" balls are OK...I won't give them anymore than that. The gimmick could use a lot of improvement and the balls are a little small. While not complete junk, I would still recommend the Fakini balls over these.

I had to learn the hard way.
Started with Manipulators from Arlen Studio. Don't know if the ones I received were the exception but, they are really bad with chunks of silicon missing where the mold was released. I would have returned them but it was part of a large order and I misplaced the original shipping materials. (I have been disappointed with the 3 Arlen Studio products I have purchased). Next I got dream multiplying balls, better but gimmick looks not exactly right in color and sheen. Finally I tried a new shop to get the Fakini's. I could have saved my self 140 dollars and just started with what everyone here keeps recommending. They are the best by a mile. (This mistake, on my part, was partially due to "dealer loyalty" as they don't carry Fakini and did carry the other two).
An idea can turn to dust or magic, depending on the talent that rubs against it.

I've just recently purchased a set of Fakini Golf balls, I fell in love with those immediately. Of all the multiplying set's I've had, Fakini is by far the best I've owned.

I suppose that I can understand why the Dream Balls are selling. A number of dealers would rather sell Fakinis, but they just can't get them. The local magic dealer, here in Grand Rapids, can't get them, but he can get the Dream Balls.

This is the link for Denny and Lee. These guys are nice and the have the biggest selection of House of fakini items. If they don't have them in stock they'll get them for you. They go from 1 3/4 to 2 1/4 and come in many differnct colors. Even flash 4 production in any color they have. Its a great magic shop. |

I find it hard to believe that people can't get Fakini balls! If you can't find them in a shop, one call to Frank and he'll have you all set up... Just last week, I attended a magic convention of the Stuttgart Magic Circle and several dealers had them for sale. This is all the way in Germany (a long way from Ohio), so...they're definitely available!
And, yes, I vote for Fakini hands down. Great product, great service...
