Maybe that's what I haven't seen yet "the entertainment".
I still find that the "view angle" of the illusion (the sawn apart area) is VERY small, and limited. And as far as the entertainnment portion, I find that those I have seen perform it, are tied to the actions that the prop requires. Blair Marshall, "ShaZzam!" Anyone want to post what THEY think is a GREAT presentation of this illusion?

Blair Marshall stated "deal closer" ?????
I have discovered anytime you tell the client you can make the guest of honor appear, float or cut them in half... They are willing to pay about 5 to 10 times MORE for the show..... I am glad Christopher is able to use it as a closer... Hey buddy you should use it as a SELLER too and charge more just for that particular effect...

Audience Dismember, I would say it is worth about $2500, for what Bill Smith is charging you can buy an entire act...

Wow .. That's a pretty bold statement .. $2500.00, are you high? The materials alone are near that. The prop is just about all metal with a powder coat finish. Let's not forget the labor involved in fabricating a complex illusion like this one. On top of all that you have the research and development of the illusion. Oh, and the Illusion Designer has to make a little something on his work ... that would be fair right??
Does this make a little more sense?? Your attitude is exactly what drags others down the wrong path .. I'm biting my tongue from saying anything worse. Steve P.S. I took a quick look at your credentials, and of course you have nothing on your profile .. I think that says it all. |

I still wonder if Dis-Middlement is more powerful in the effect. You have not the big bulky table, not only a tipping part - you take out a complete section and can clearly see through, not limited by a "sawing sign". And btw it packs smaller (and is cheaper)...
And the reasons from above are all fulfilled: * Big illusion which uses an audience member * Creates a wonderful photo op * Not overly done or seen (at least in my neck of the woods) * Great deal closer when selling my show |

61magic:
I own an audience dismember and your comment hurt my heart. This prop is worth every penny. Chezaday: Thanks for sticking out for us and bill. Joy Joy: Audience dismember is way much practical. For the dis-middlement you need a smooth one colored backdrop. I remember in my old days when I was starting out in magic I used to own the flaming head chest (Mak Magic) that worked on the same principle and I couldn't do it everywhere. Thanks, Reynold |

I've already made my feelings clear...I'd ust like to add that it is more than worth it for the price. The quality of a Magic Ventures illusion, that can fit in the back of an SUV, can be rolled out of the case and performed in the biggest of venues, with no other assistant required...give me a break...worth every *** penny.

While I think that Dismember leaves a few things to be desired - I do believe it's worth every penny. For one, Jim designed it - second, Bill Smith builds it. It's a good illusion, I wish it were a tad more deceptive, but under the right performing conditions, it's killer!

I would need to get an awful lot of mileage out of a $7000 illusion.
