Hi All
A friend of mine is going through divorce and subsequently is having to sell his massive collection of stage effects. I have bought his first batch of effects. The most interesting in the lot was Supreme's Armless Surgery which he has never used. Have any of you used this? What sort of a reaction does it get? Thanks Mark

By the way, the effect is similar to Peter Loughran's Fracture, but the box does not split on a track. Your arm is in a box which is then divided by two large blades. Your assistant then splits the box and carries the hand portion (out of which poke your moving fingers) to the opposite side of the stage.

I've seen this performed a few times by a few different performers. Paul Daniels did it on on of his shows years ago too.
It can look great but is not an effect that you can draw out once you've separated the boxes. It looks quite startling to most audiences but spend too long trying to milk the effect when in fact the effect is already done and they're going to catch on. It's never looked the slickest of illusions whenever I've seen it done and it definitely lends itself to a patter presentation. Personally I can't see it going over in a big theatre but with crowds of up to a couple of hundred or so and a non laboured performance I've seen it work very effectively. Neal
