Hey everyone,
I managed to get my hands on 6 decks of Wynn's. Apparently people have said that these are the "next Jerry's Nugget". Has anyone played around with these cards yet? Are they good to use? |

I manged to get six of these last night. The plan is to just open one and Ebay the rest, at least if its true for how much they are selling. I don't know though, we'll see.

Any comparison between those and Jerry's for those of you that have both decks?

The Wynns are a thicker stock than Jerry's. If you put them side by side they are about 7 cards thicker. I would say that Jerry's are thinner but stiffer than the Wynns. The Wynns are still stiffer than any other card I've seen though. All in all they are great all around cards.

They are 2nd best to Jerry's for the reasons stated in above post. I like the fact that the Wynn's are about the thickness of a typical deck when compared side to side. Jerry's seem like there are fewer cards. But theses are minor details to me. I like both of them but would never pay more than $5 for any deck of cards.

There's nothing special about Jerry's Nuggets, same goes for wynns. Dan and Daves skill comes from a decade of practise, not some special magic cardboard.

I really like the Wynn's. I think they feel great for sure and I will definitley use them. I agree with Jonas as well. its more practice than anything else. well said!
also on the question of "rareness" of the Wynn's, I personally don't think it really matters. if you have the skill to make the cards fly during the manipulation, that catches peoples attention and makes you look good, NOT the cards you are using. Sure there are some back designs that are better (and the Wynn back design is great) but it is the skill that will trump all. |

I think that T11 and the Bucks should sell Wynns to the military due to their Tactical Bicycle and Bee hybrid feel! Thick as bees...rough as tacticals. They even smell like tacticals too!

I also just purchases the blue and red wynn's from dananddave.com. I wonder how those ones feel. I shall soon find out

I got my shipment of wynns from dan and dave today, and they feel a lot different than the browns. They feel almost plastic like at first. I think I like them better than the browns. They are also more stiff and don't seem to clump up like the browns, at least yet....
I actually just love the card design, so I'm glad the red and blues are readily available.

Hmmmm..i got mine in today too. I actually think the total opposite. In reality all 3 decks feel different from one another. The Reds are terrible for fanning, the Blues are a middle ground and the Browns are best. I love the colour of the Reds and Blues but overall, the stock of the Browns is far better.

I kind of agree and kind of don't. I think the reason I like the red and violet ones a lot is because they are readily available. I don't have to gamble for the 250 deck limit or pay 20 dollars a deck on ebay, and they still feel *** close to the browns and look better. Its kind of hard to use bikes now after using the wynns. I really like the simplistic design of the cards.

Yeah. the back design is great. I agree with you on that for sure. if only the REDS felt like the BROWNS!!!!!!!

Humorous is the word that comes to mind. I see one intelligent post and that is from Jonas. Skill comes from practice not the card. If you question my opinion, take a look back at Cardini. His manipulation skills were not with cards of even Bicycle quality. Plus he handled pasteboards while wearing gloves!

The Wynn cards are not rare. They are all over eBay now. I think they are just new so that the first ones who had them managed to sell them expensively. They shouldn't cost you much at all.
I have used one (blue) deck now for 2 weeks and they seem indestructable. The deck really still looks new and unwarped. For things like the Snap Deal they are as good as you can get, but they have very little glideability compared to cards like Bikes. In fact, I try to do my blind Faro stripout shuffle and I cannot get the cards apart at all. I tried it yesterday with both hands using all strength and they were completely locked. The best part of using these is that after two weeks of practicing different cull techniques with these cards (and struggling), I suddenly turned into a pro when I picked up a deck of broken in Bicycle Masters. Maybe that is a good practice technique. "Work out" with heavier cards and then just warm up with (to adjust to) a softer deck for performances. Feels like flying. On the other hand, I can push two cards straight out in a DL with the Wynn cards and they are perfectly aligned, but with the Bikes they slide apart. Sadly no cards can be both stiff and soft at once or rough and slippery at once. In the end the best is probably a good mid range deck.

Granted it's all in the marketing that's aimed towards a certain age group, the discussion here is mainly about how the cards feel and whether they are worth the price or not. I don't see how anyone can interpret these posts as kids wanting to be as good as Dan and Dave by buying the same cards as them. Heck, all the threads regarding novelty decks seems to be cursed with the fate of having it shat upon by people who don't read the whole thread and simply assume the thread is about a bunch of kids circle-jerking to their magic stars/idols and the cards/equipments that they use. Think of it in this way: The young generation is easily influenced by good marketing and companies like Theory 11, Ellusionist and Penguin Magic target that particular age group by placing in info about certain magic stars using a certain brand of cards or equipments. It's there just to entice more people into buying and THERE IS NOTHING WRONG ABOUT IT. It's just clever marketing. It's like how Nike and Adidas have football stars wearing their brand of boots to get more people to buy because if it's good enough for the pros, it's good enough for them. I'm sorry if this comes off as harsh and crude, but I think this is a problem that needs to be addressed before every thread in the future regarding novelty decks be bashed and de-railed. Back on topic, I got my hands on a couple of red Wynn decks and I personally like the feel of them better than the Bikes. Granted Bikes are already rare enough from where I come from, I guess I wouldn't be any worse off by using the Wynn decks. I like the feel of it and how solid it feels without having to shell out a lot of money for stuff like Bicycle Masters or the other novelty decks. It looks simple and relatively normal. Just that the dark maroon red colour is something that one needs to get used to.
