They were having a buy one item at full price and a 2nd at half and I got coinvexed at half off! I'm attending a friends wedding in a couple weeks and looking forward to using it there! Mike |

No pk
the only thing I have found last weekend is just a couple of times, people have spotted the bent coin as they are cupping their hands together no really want you want, but not a total failure like I said, I've only been unlucky a couple of times with this but does anyone have any tips on the routing of the display of the 2 coins, putting them into their hand, and then getting them to cover there hand with their other hand (cupping them together) maybe I should work on more eye contact? a post or pm would be appreciated.... cheers matt |

Has anyone noticed that after bending the coin, there are two creases in the coin from where the gimmick was. I didn't think much of it as I have performed it many times without trouble, but I was called on this last weekend by the spectator.
Maybe this was just a one off, but having bent a few more at home, I can definitely see creases in the coin that are clearly visible. To me this is a clear tell that a gimmick has been used to somehow bend the coin. They don't know how, but they know its been 'done'. Is this the same for everyone, and also is there any way around it? |

The telltale signs can be reduced to a great extent by very slightly rounding off the inside sharp edge (including the corners) of the 'U' groove (that makes contact with the coin) by filing and then smoothing it with '0000' emery paper. It took me about 25 minutes to do up the four edges of the two part gimmick. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the replies. I don't think I am doing the bend wrong, as I only do a slight bend anyway. However to test this, I just did a few tiny bends which you couldn't even pick up by looking at it, and still creases appeared on the coin. On my gimmick the edges are very sharp, and it is basically cutting into the coin when any pressure is applied. I will be unable to fix this as I am rubbish with any type of DIY, and also having paid this much for a gimmick, I don't think I should have to. I guess it will just go in the magic draw with the rest of the items I don't use. |

So, you performed it many times without trouble, but now that you've noticed the small, nearly imperceptible crease, you're tossing it in the drawer? |

For me though it isn't that imperceptible - its two big lines down the coin cut into the queen. I didn't notice it before, but as a spectator drew attention to it it has kinda knocked my confidence a bit. I guess if the same spectator compared their coin with another coin in the same room, and they both had creases, I would definitely be rumbled. I did try filing it a bit but didn't get anywhere. I find it unbeliveable that other people aren't getting creases really, as it makes me think it's me. I may go back to it in a few weeks, but as I say, my confidence in the trick has been knocked. |

I find that if you do the bend with the signature on the bottom of the coin (as you do the bend) this can cover the creases slightly - this is maybe why I hadn't noticed them before the weekend, although I shouldn't have to use the signature to cover up anything. Just a bit of a workaround I guess. |
