Would anybody in Europe who has access to these cards (Rambler No 23) be willing to trade some new decks?

They have Gilt edges (gold) and an aluminum finish. The U.S. Playing Card Company does not sell them in the U.S. so I need somebody from Europe to send me some. In exchange I will send them cards from the U.S.

Try:

http://www.alidastore.com/index.html

I think there is an english version of the shop but just in case:
Carte da gioco = Playing cards
Carte Internazionali = International cards
Elenco e prezzi = Catalog and price list

No, there is no English version. I did find them with the help of your translation, but I have no Idea how much I would be paying for them. If I were to buy cards here and send them in trade I would know how much they cost.

I found the conversion button, but would still rather work out a trade with somebody.

I bought some of these when I was in Hong Kong. They are excellent for faro shuffles. They were sold in the 7-11 stores there. I bought a bunch, but only have a couple left. They are not even listed on the US playing card company website so I thought they were fake. Either way, they look cool and handle nicely.

There is a wonderful UK based company who are great to deal with.
I did a quick search for you and they do stock Ramblers.

Take a look.

They are three pounds a deck which equates to about five bucks I think.
Their address is http://www.cards4magic.co.uk and they stock just about every type of card you can think of.
If they don't stock it then they attempt to track down the cards you are after.
Good site.
Highly recommended.

Doug, same thing happened to me. I found three decks in a 7-11 and bought them all. I opened one just to see what they were like and have kept the other two sealed. They're a very strange type of card, the gilt edging is very unusual.

Is there any shop in the U.S. selling Bridge size BEE decks?

Thanks

Adam, were you in Hong Kong or in the U.S. when you found the Ramblers? I just got lucky, my roomie is in Hong Kong now and is picking up a couple of decks. Wish they had silver edges though.

Doug, I was in Hong Kong at the time touring the place with a band. We were relaxing in a Starbucks when I thought I'd nip into a 7-11 to get something for the missus.

Doug, I recently ordered a couple of decks of Ramblers and am surprised that you say they are excellent for faro shuffles.

Mine won't faro for toffee.
(Or anything else I've offered them for that matter.)

Still, they are extremely nice cards. The corners are a bit sharp but I quite like that.

I just bourght a pack from international Magic in London. Should all the packs have the gold edges? I was expecting them to have gold edges but when I opened the pack the edges were just normal! Had I better return these?

Not all Ramblers have gilded edges. In fact, USPC has made gilded-edge versions of many of their back designs at one time or another.

The ones we have on our website at: http://www.nls.physics.ucsb.edu/~nathanb/cards/index.html

have the gilded edges, but I have some in my personal collection that do not.

Incidentally, the site is down at the moment for maintenence but should be back up shortly.

Here's a store that sells them online.
This is not a shopping recommendation. I'm not familiar, nor have I ever used this business.

Glad to hear that some packs do not have gilded edges...But the yellow box does say that the cards are aluminium coated...and have gilded edges!!! Is there any way to discover

a] What coloured pack you are getting?
b] Whether the cards have the gilded edges?

Does the gild come of with extensive use? Is it possible to Faro shuffle the cards with the Gilded Edges?
