Hi guys. I'm trying to come up with an alternate handling of Julian Bond's "Home Video Prediction" that involves a dream date. The video will predict the name of the restaurant (or movie, or whatever else the couple does), the color of the girl's dress, and how much the evening cost. So far, I have a method for the spectator to come up with the first two portions, but I'm still trying to decide on how best to get the specs to come to the dollar amount. I was thinking of an "Add a Number" scenario, so I was hoping someone here could point me in the right direction of such an effect that would suit my needs. I'll have the dollar amount ahead of time (obviously), so all I need is the most suitable Add a Number effect and where I can find it.
Thanks! -Mal |

I use a pad of paper that looks the same on both sides & flip over. Done it hundreds of times & non one notices.

The pad is something I'm considering.
Any other tips? |

I use cheap pads about the size of a playing card. Remember, they don't know what's going on & the switch happens at least a minute or two before the final outcome. Just don't feel guilty. The bigger the room the easier this is to do, I make the switch while moving from the last person who's written down a number & I look for someone who can add (several jokes here).

You can check out Max Maven's VideoMind series and see how he arrives at an acceptable selection of numbers on his book test, Autome.
Bobby p.s. I just did Charles Gauci's Nostrodamus at a Christmas party for an accounting firm, and it was very well received. You might look at that, too. Gauci's lecture in Cincinnati a few years ago remains one of my favorites.

May I add my praise for Charles Gauci's Nostradamus as well. Simple methodology - excellent results.

Speaking of Add-a-Number methods: Consider using Camirand Academy's Kozar Prediction Note Pad. This pad can be left in the spectators hands when the totalling happens. The mechanics are simple and the pad looks nice and innocent. |
