Try this place: http://www.gaussboys.com/
They have a few good magnets. Also they are selling a bunch of them on ebay. Try searching for rare earth magnets on ebay.

I went to my local hardware store and found small magnets that were 8 pounds of resistance!! So much you can do with these.

If you have some old computer hardware, I hear you can get some pretty powerful magnets out of hard drives (dead ones of course!).

I've bought this type magnet before from one of the sources listed above, and want to say that the best price I've found is from Lee Valley Veritas.

http://www.leevalley.com

When you get to the site, look on the left hand side in the blue section for:

the "Jump To Item #" Box.

Put this # 99K31.01 in the box.

It'll take you to what you are looking for.

Ps They've got lots of good tools too. Although they usually seem a bit pricey, you get great quality tools from them. Smile

I don't know if anyone is reading this thread anymore, but here's another idea- if you live near a surplus store, they many have some as well- here in Minneapolis, Axman surplus carries many wonderful and useful parts of things that once were, including rare earth magnets on occasion.

Good luck,

Go to toy shops and look for those magnetic darts. These are also strong magnets you can use for pen thru anything or rope gimmicks. You can sometimes also find them in those refrigerator decors.

I ordered from KJ Magnetics but I've realized now that they may be a bit more expensive than Wondermagnet.

We'll see how it goes. Anyway, I ordered a bunch of 1/4 x 1/4 inch and several small disc magnets so we'll see what fun and creative things come about.

I think, if it hasn't been done, we should start a thread of just magnet effects. Smile

I had some neo magnets come with my Quad Vicious Circles, and I have NEVER seen such powerful smaller magnets.....I couldn't even get them apart!
