Hello,
The auditions for the Spring 2008 season of the local amusement park here are in February, and I was wondering, if I have 2 minutes, would Cardiographic be a good audition piece? If so, should I put the amusement park's logo on the case of the giant cards, or do something along those lines to plug the park? Any input is appreciated! Pete |

Whoo Hoo... I spent many years producing and performing at that park waaaay back in the park's hey day! “It’s A Magic World” was the largest illusion review show of it’s day and was heralded in Genii, Magic Manuscript, MUM and all the trade publications …Oh what memories!
Anyway… I’m in Reno now and thousands of Casino Showrooms later I STILL remember those theme park days as some of my favorite! Pbg739, PM me and I will be happy to chat with you for a few about some ideas that may help. Curtis, (FYI) Great America is one few remaining mega-parks (3rd largest in California) in the country and is now owned by "Paramount". (But not for long… new owners coming in… Ha!) Check-out http://www.GreatAmericaParks.com as well for more info. Too, there are quite a few discussion HERE at the Café about theme park magic... feel freee to SEARCH here for free as well! Thinking of YOU and your Success! I am at your service and In HIS Service, Deano (remembering 10’s of thousands of theme park shows) in Reno <>< PS Did you know that DARYL used to work in the magic shop there long before he became the start of magic he is today. Oh I could tell you stories! Hehehehehehe!

Back in the 70's I worked 2 different parks, Guntown Mt. in Cave City, KY and Cedar Point in Sandusky OH. These 2 parks are at different ends of the spectrum-Guntown rather small and Cedar Point very large.
In both additions I was told that I got the job for the same reason, that is I connected with rather than performed at the audience (in this case those doing the audition. The key is that the effect probably won't get you the job, so chose something you know very well and are totally comfortable with. Gil Scott |
