Ok, I went to the club for a night out with no magic. I was on a mission to get drunk go home and have a good time!!! So half way through the night some guy says "HEY MAGIC GUY" and walks up to me and starts talking and asks if I would do some tricks for him.

Now, my brain is thinking, I got nothing with me not even a deck of cards, by this time I look around and his friends have appeared and I'm thinking, what do I do?

....then I notice the shot glasses at this club were like a black glass you can't see through them, Perfect, so, I grabbed three!!! Now balls? aaaah cigarette ends they'll do. It is the most impromtu cup and balls... well cigarette ends I have ever preformed.

I went on to do more impromtu tricks with simple coins and credit cards and pick pocked methods the night turned out good after me thinking that I was sunk for having no effects!!!

So my question is, what's the most impromtu trick you have ever done without any gimmicks or playing cards?

I vanish the Statue of Liberty impromptu!!!
But as I'm in Australia I tell them they'll just have to take my word for it.

I usually do some coin tricks. Someone always has some pocket change. You can never go wrong with that haha.

I remember having to do a cups and balls routine using foam cups and rolled up pieces of napkins.

I regularly do cups and balls impromptu.
I use coffee cups and paper napkins.
It takes practice. There is a totally different feel to it if you are used to using a real set of C&B.

A couple of quick coin routines are usually quite good for impromptu work. Everybody has them, people are quite satisfied that they are not gimmicked (especially if they come from their own pockets!)...

I think that a spongeball routine with some crumpled up napkins is a great impromptu routine as well.

On Michael Ammar's cups and balls tapes his guest, Bob Read, recommends making the balls from some fresh bread. Tear out the centers of the bread, discard the crusts and make the balls. You might need to add a little water.

At a Chinese restaurant I used three tea cups and wadded up the wrapes from chop sticks, used a chop stick for a wand and had gone into the kitchen and "nicked" three lemons.

Also, use the old salt shaker thru table, paper balls over the head with napkins and bread rolls.

I have even done coffee cups over the head. One time there was an open window behind the spectator and I just tossed the stuff over his head and out the window! Smile

How many floors up? Yikes look out below!

On the subject of impromtu C&B "The Complete Idiot's Guide" actually teaches it with coffee cups and rolled up napkins.

"Mommy when I grow up I want to be a magician"
"Oh sweety you can't do both."

I use matches, coins and cigarettes, someone has always got one or all of these in their pocket. I tend to keep clear of cup's and balls as I only know one routine for them and it's really old, most people have seen it which kinda kills the magic in it
