Well, not really a phone book, but a very large heavy book similar to a phone book. I'm sitting at a table. I have a method in mind, but wanted to know if anyone out there had any brainstorming ideas. Some other ideas I had were, produce it from a folder a la producing bunny from hat via bunny bag, or via KJ bowling ball production. This is going to be done sitting at a table, close-up. Anyone?

How about taking out a large pocket handkerchief, shaking it out and suddenly a large heavy book drops from it onto the table with a thud?

I like the hanky idea!

Here's my mental stab at it... Open a coin purse, pull out a coin, then a wand, then a phone book. "Very deep!" The wand will freak them out badly enough that they might never see where the phone book really comes from. Sometimes implied magic is just as strong. Think of Gertner's largest steel ball from the cup.

Instead of a wand, how about one of those 10 foot poles. That would have an even bigger impact.
No one said it would be easy, or did they?
