Is it always like this, Children bickering in a school yard, I asked a simple question and for the most have recieved decent answers, the people who respond to my mails I am greatful to, after all its their time, for years I lectured on Witchcraft ancient and modern, it got so bad, some of the infighting it became what was known as !@#$%craft, as a newbie to the site this is quite dishartning, in a couple of days it will be a new year, for many a new begining, we are entertainers we entertain theres enough agro in the world already, just look outside our little bubbles.

There's an hour of my life I can't get back. The man has no charisma. No screen prescence, and his sleight of hand is terrible.
The D-lister's were so glad to be on TV they would have lapped up finger chopper! The finale was embarassing, the countdown ended before the fuse did!!! I uploaded a similiar one with Paul Daniels, much better. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=mdTSyzha_48 |

There is an episode of Gervais' very popular podcast "The Ricky Gervais Show" where Gervais, Merchant and Pilkington talk about an encounter with Derren: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTiGZC4scGc And then there is the infamous clip where Derren Yes/No's Merchant to death: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOvM_I8t6pY&feature=related Apparently Mr Nardi has released a similar, or the same effect under the name "Deciscions" which can be found to be discussed on another thread in this forum. Ricky mentions (therefore exposing) the term M**** S***** in the podcast (first clip.) I don't think Ricky likes any thunder stolen from him, but he obviously respects and has befriended Derren. There have been several bits of nomenclature that Gervais has used that tend to make one believe that he has some knowledge of magic or mentalism. Either way, though I'm not a supporter of exposure in any way, I think both Gervais and Derren are both brilliant in there own forms of entertainment. Just don't do any mentalism for Ricky if you see him out and about on your next first class flight. D. PS As a southern born Floridian, that post hopefully garners me the "Anglophile of the Year" award. |

On the subject of exposing the Balducci levitation.
In my opinion, this method has entered pop culture, and has done so for years. I've seen so many people doing it in social circumstances. It's nearly always done in a tongue-in-cheek manner. |

Thank you Don Theo for the Ricky Gervais/Derren Brown clip link.Funny stuff!
I know some of you not living in England think we are bitter in our reviews of Keith Barry but do remember that Derren Brown first aired his programmes over 5 years ago and has had 3 or 4 series since. Folks on the http://www.digitalspy.co.uk site are not magicians and most of their comments were a lot harsher.

Just a quick question.
WHy were workmen hammering planks of wood over the shed walls and door? Wasn't the idea that he was supposed to escape? If not, surely just nail up the door! Absoulutely stunning joke on digital Spy Quote:

Chris is one of the few established performers on this site who is performing origninal material, little but of resewarch would have gone aong way. You could have seen the numerous releases put out by Chris to confirm this. Anyways, back on topic. Overall I thought it was a good show, the effects were very nice, some fantastic, but all relatively accesible. Saying that I though the variation of confabulation was really stunning. Does anyone know if this is the marketed version? http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=MdXfhMuJaEo So while I thought the effects were very nice, Keith was just a bit bland. I saw no reason for him to be there. He was not there for his ability to create effects, nor was he paticularly funny or interesting. I noticed that while performing the effects he was ok, but any in between banter, he seemed to freeze up slightly and forget he was performing. None the less quite enjoyable, and I would be happy to see more. |
