I love Ulitmate Topsy Turvy Aces. It is, in my opinion, the best effect on the DVD. Well, VHS tape for me. I got it a while ago.

Ultimate Topsy Turvy Aces is really good but don't overlook the Wimhurst Poker Deal, combining a difficult false deal with an easy setup for a classic sucker hand finale.

'm not saying this to butter anyone's bread, but there are trick write ups that you read and it's just a trick - it's cool, it's neat, but that's it. Then there is stuff like, say, Whit Haydn's "Chicago Surprise" manuscript, where you learn like 10 things about magic theory that you can apply elsewhere because of the author/performer's insights and experience. The bonus routine that Andrew has included here is one of those write ups.
Of course the dvd material is fantastic - same quality as the above mentioned bonus - but often, the word "bonus" is synonymous with "leftover stuff that wasn't good enough to make the cut". That ain't the case here. Put it this way - I already owned this video on cassette, but when I heard it was being released on dvd, I jumped at the chance to have it in that format.

Amazing tape, glad it's finally on DVD. You card guys should really hunt down his notes.

Hello,
for those who have the dvd, I have a question about the deck switch he uses. In the performance section, he shows his pocket empty. (cf. the screenshot). This is a beautiful convincer. But in the explanation section, he doesn't explain how it's possible with his method. Actually, I try his method, but I can't show my pocket as clean as he does... Someone can help me ? here or in private message ? thank you in advance. Click here to view attached image. |
