For $15 or $20.00 - Entourage by Gordon Bean- gets such great reactions with the double climax.

Among the best:
Single Card Trick Effects: Tagged, Ultra Gum, Double back, Ace, Twisted Sisters, In A Flash, Psypher, Twlight Angels, Branded, LIT, Paperclipped, Wild Card, ID, Brainwave Books/DVD's: Colombini (anything) but I love his "True Magic series" and his "Aldo On Trost series". John Bannon material, Karl Fulves Material. Anything that has Mr. Lorraynes name on it. Non Card: Pen through bill (I use Stealth), TT (silks, sweet n low, restorations, bill changes, etc), Ignition, Floating objects, 3 coins across (Roth's version), Bill In Lemon (Malones version), Ring and Rope (Wilson's DVD and Deluxe Nest Of Wallets). I could go on but it seems I have way too many fav's. |

The best trick I ever purchased was 65 years ago and it still is after many years of magic. THE TT

I get superb reactions from the combo of both these effects in that order. If you're not familiar with Colombini's "Equalizer Revealment" I believe his "Magnetic" is his improved/tweaked version. |

Two effects that I really like are T2P and another vote for Dean's box.

Into the Abyss by Oz Perlman - where I use the Telethought Wallet combined with Paperclipped for the prediction. Biggest reactions over anything else. Close second: Extreme Burn 2.0

I tell them that most people ask me to straiten their quarter but I'd like to leave them with a souvenir instead. Then I tell them that I'd like to gift wrap their quarter first. I reach into my pocket and pull out my Nest of wallets and then cause the quarter to vanish and appear in the wallet gift wrapped. The responses have been jaw dropping!

In no particular order, Trilogy, Deep Astonishment, The Kennedy Mystery Box and the Einhorn Nest of Wallet......all great workers and LOVING them! Have just purchased the V Deck and the Clarity Box but not gone 'operational' with these yet....
A big thank you for the 5 votes for Up the Ante on this thread!
Have you tried 'Up The Ante' yet?? The ultimate gambling demo....a self-working wonder! See the reviews here on the cafe.

I have to add Angelo Carbone's "CUE THE MAGIC". For a performing entertainer this is gold! Some may not like the price tag- I think it is worth every penny!

Strangely enough I think the trick that most laymen enjoy is the Color Monte. Very simple to do, little wallet space to carry, and the suprise ending. Not sure why it is loved so much but it works. Outside of that the ambitious card and coins across or three fly always get good reactions.

I gave this question some thought. Given how many tricks I've purchased over the years and how many tricks I've performed (which is quite a few), the majority of the things I've performed and used regularly have used ordinary items like cards, coins, and especially rubber bands. That's enlightening! That being said...
In the category of gimmicks and store bought tricks, I've gotten a lot of mileage from: Scotch & Soda Razzle Dazzle by Nick Trost (first mention!) Also ranking among my favourite purchases (not for mileage but for cleverness or just plain fun): Chop Cup Thought Transmitter (recently replaced with Telethought Wallet II) Crook Lock Telekinetic Timber Crystal Cleaver Bigger Wands (how's that for a departure?) Invisible Deck Sadly, I've never performed ID because I've never been able to s******* the cards smoothly enough to look totally natural! I love magic and so the last thing I want to do is risk compromising a real worker for so many magicians. That's the same reason we all need to avoid cutting corners. I cringe when I see a bad El****y Co**t, DL (or get-ready). Imagine if such staples got exposed. It's like people who talk casually about card f*****! Bring back corporal punishment! |
