I like "Yours Truly. . ." the best. But I've been calling it "Red Jack's Big Book of Fun" in my head. Sorry, I'll be quiet now.

Docc Hilfords nightmare routine is the best Ripper effect I have found. I even went as far as creating my own gaffed coin from a 1888 bun penny for this effect.

The copper silver coin is the half dollar in the picture. The other side of it is queen victorias head (bun penny). Everyone wants to see it when the old penny is shown so I use a simple shuttle pass that is totally hidden because its to show them the date on the coin switch to the 1888 coin and end clean Smile
There is one more in exsitance I made 2 and sold one to some guy on this forum

Dr Spektor,

I am a ripper enthusiast, but far from being an expert on the subject. We no doubt have many in our ranks here, who could test me severely.

I have mentioned contacting others in the Jack Overload posting area.
Will continue to reach out.

Also, just thought of another section based on BloodyJack's work...

"The Bloody Tools Section" - a possible section where people can share how they found and or built props / setting pieces specific for gothic/gaslight/ripper etc. effects.....

Also, this is where we can list certain companies effects for sale that are wonderful for many uses beyond what they were originally even intended for!

Speaking of OUTLAW.... I asked a few different favourite creators of magic goodies if they could contribute to the cause by giving a discount / vouchers for Ripper related items they sell...

And Dan from LB and Roth from OUTLAW said "YEa!" - the exact nature of these specials will be determined later... but I know many Ripper effects will be enhanced by Homicide UK items... (and what I hear are some other amazing LUNAtic items Ripper related) from Outlaw - and Dan's From Hell, Book of Ascension, Incorruptiple etc.... wow... I'm sure a few more of our Unusual Suspects of Dark magic might also come in on this....

So, round of applause for Dan and Roth - true gentlemen of the cause...

----

Slydini - in terms of an essay - whatever appeals to you and will help relate some context elements for performing Gaslight themed effects.... Jim Magus just let me know he is going to write up an essay on why Jack is so popular and still in popular culture.... Thamiel is thinking of doing artistic elements for the Ripper... I might write something on spectator consideration and safety issues for presenting such dark magic...

I was thinking of going to bizarremagick... and then I thought - heck, Magic Café doesn't get enough good press... let it be known that this project started here, was developed here and was produced by the local zaniacs....

Also, if it all goes well - what a great case example of magicians helping magicians (and charity) in that within a short time an amazing book can be produced...

Wild, man....wild!

A wealth of information and creative resourcing. Bravo! Look forward to building a fabulous tome.
Nothing is truer than the incomprehensible, because the sum total of our knowledge consists of the fact that we know nothing. Our reality is an illusion. Thus illusion is reality-Punx
