Which ones do you like? You might also want to ask this question in the coin section of the Café.

I'll be the mensch; Ray Koenig's Bent Cent is definitely worth checking out. And though many had problems with certain aspects of Paul Vigil's ICON, I recommend the mss. for the coin bending handling.

I agree with Bill again - for coin bending collectors - Vigil's is a nice change from the usual ones... It apears to juse melt on your outstretched index finger with no rubbing, no other hand mental Oomphing etc...
But check out Banachek, Osterlind and Spellman too.

Well, I don't really like it but it's the only one I know, Morgan Strebler Closer or Spun. But I don't like spun, the preparation is long and can be broken easily, the closer is a signed coin bend, but you don't make it fly in mid air.
Not a reccomendation, but just saying. ~Athos.

Spellman and Nardi have an effective, simple one on their "Unexpected" DVDs. Also, if you have an "X-Pert" from Neil Tobin, a great coin bend is possible (as well as numerous other effects). Another source is Christopher Taylor's new book / and or DVD, "Unconventional". It'll get you to break out your old Dime/Penny.

Aieee! How did I forget the bend in Unconventional? Thanks for bringing it up Gabe, it is one of my favorites. I think it is without a doubt the best presentation of all if you are performing for more than just a couple of people. Though not a visible bend, the staging and audience involvement are outstanding.

I don't know the origins, but the guys at Go Magic Go described a quarter bend on one of their podcasts. It is simple, but very effective.

Coin bending is similar to spoon bending in that -
every situation is slightly different and knowing various bending techniques will allow for a good performance at any time. |

Thanks for the clarification. It is all great stuff but you really outdid yourself with Qi Coin.

I personally like John T Sheets Quantum Bender 2.0 costs some money, but is the Rolls Royce of all coin benders to date.

Amongst the methods for bending live, most useful for signed coin bending routines, as opposed to pre-bent coins, are:-
Boa - one of the cheapest, works OK, needs to be kept hidden, can be rigged up like superman, can be problematic to end clean. Superman - you end clean and does the job fine, needs to be kept hidden, slightly easier setup than boa but requires being dressed to suit. Terminator wallet and Quantum bender 1.0 or 2.0 - all top of the line wonderworkers, hidden in plain sight, do the job with ease and are intelligently used as part of their routines. Coinvexed is another new product, out next month. As previously mentioned, Neil Tobin's Xpert (the bonus routine) allows another approach to a signed coin effect. |
