There are a number of these clips under the name Lejo. It looks like he has an offical spot on some tv show. Look through the clips on google videos, and tell me what you think. I think they are wonderful- any info would be appreciated. thanks
Here is a link to his website http://www.lejo.nu/ |

It says he's a Dutch pupeteer. Very good, his finger co-ordination is amazing!

I have been recently trying to think up something really unique for family audiences and one of my ideas was to do a routine with just my hands and peepers. Not so unique then but thanks for the link that guy is great. brilliant stuff, love it.

Very original and creative. I had a lot of fun just watching it and laughing with it. It is amazing what you can come up with and create when you do not hinder your creative mind.

How difficult would it be to train your fingers for something that envolved? weeks, months, years? I'm very interested in learning this, but if the investment of time is immensely long, it would be a time issue for me.

I think there is no easy answer to that. It depends on the indvidual. Some folks are very flexible already and maybe some who are into manipulative magic may have an easier time with it. I think the only way to know for sure, is to simply try it for yourself and see what comes of it. With anything, it is going to take practice and patience and a lot of ard work to get it down the way you want it to be. If nothing more, this would be great usage for flexibility and exercise for your hands.

It is much like the great American juggler, acrobat, puppeteer Fred (the Zeppelin) Garbo, who is the big dog on Sesame Street, and the creator of the inflatable theater http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awYnuv5oeGc
PS-as you can see Fred has a beautiful Brazilian ballet dancer wife too.

There is a DVD out (available at KWmagic.com and Hanklee.com ) that I forget the name of, but shows finger puppets and comes with a set of eyes.

Are there books or dvds that specialize in this type of still. I have a dvd on hand exercises and flexiblity drills. I'm sure this is a big step. Are there other resources besides this. Not only regarding hand work, but building or buy miniature stages or props. thanks

I have that DVD. "The eyes have it" I think it's called. It's not the best, some really weak ones but some ideas that you could possibly go somewhere with.

Al,
Thanks for the link. The act reminds me a bit of mime act Mummenshantz from the 70's..... Ken |

Lejo is from the Netherlands and he is a puppeteer. nice guy. with his little movies (ball vase) he is seen in the dutch sesame street. it is very amazing to see him. it is great for kids and adults.
my daughter (at that time 3 1/2 years) has seen him many times on the television. one day we performed on the same festival. she was sitting and looking then she started to realise that what she saw was lejo from sesame straat. |
