A friend of mine participates in ARF (Animal Rescue Foundation) and sent me this video link of some before and after photos of dogs that they have rescued.
If you're a dog lover this will make you angry as well as happy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_m5q_vScM3M Best, Tim |

Great video Tim!
Here is a pic of my wife with our own two "kids." I felt compelled to share after watching that video. http://www.lyndel.net/temporary_stuff/janetandthegirls.jpg Lyndel |

Greetings Tim;
Thank You for sharing that with us, I now know another group going on my list. My dog Bonzai came to us in a similar fashion. Some A**hole threw her out a moving car going down the road at about 50. My daughter was not far behind and saw what happened. She stopped and picked up the pup, about 3 days old with her eyes not even open yet, and brought her to our house. We called the state police who responded that since the dog is not dead, there is nothing they could do about it, even though we had a license number. We fed her with a childs baby doll bottle and had our vet check her out, thank God she was o.k., now 2 years later we have a healthy, happy Chinnuk named Bonzai (name came from her situation) Spoiled would be an understatement, she is constantly by my side, in the office, the workshop, when I go shopping, when I cook, even when I sleep. I would one day love to run into the idiot that threw her out of the moving car, then I could use my freedom of espression to adjust their attitude. All the Best Marty |

Thanks for the photo Lyndel...but I fear you have started something..LOL
Marty...there will always be idiots who don't deserve a dog but thankfully there are people who do! I myself had a rescue and will never forget her. In the meantime... here is my follow up to Lyndel..LOL Best, Tim |

Okay, you're right, it was all Lyndel's fault. Actually, you're right twice, we all like it. I have to go pet Max now.

Hey Lyndel...
Yeah, Zeus does love the white stuff! Here's a shot of 4 of his 6 kids: http://s153.photobucket.com/albums/s234/......osey.jpg By the way, Zeus is a "Labrador Huskey"...Not a Lab mixed with Huskey, but rather a unique breed from Labrador Canada (We THINK)...He was a rescue...If we hadn't taken him he would have been destined to a dog fighting ring... Thank GOD we got him...Now he is extremely spoiled and knows he's the bomb! Great thread guys...We (the wife and I) are definately animal people...8 dogs, and 3 cats with a 'big' bird on the way! LOL Life at the zoo, right? Prof. Piper

Thanks for the link Tim!
We can't save them all but what a difference to the ones we do. Those of you that have adopted a rescue - thank you! I've very involved in animal rescue and have a housefull..dogs, cats, bunnies and other creatures. Tim I think I've mentioned before, two of my dogs are Old English Sheepdogs! Looks just like yours! To those others that posted - You also have beautiful dogs! Here's a vid that was posted on You Tube and touched my heart. I contacted the woman who made the vid and was responsible for saving Mickeys'life. This woman is amazing as I had the opportunity to meet her when I adopted Mickey and gave him a forever home. He's been with me since Nov 11th. He's now twice the size and recovering! Umm yes I know the post was about dogs but, I am guilty of hijacking the post.:O) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wj3uNrRHTiw Chrystal |

Hi Chrystal,
I expected you to chime in here because I knew you had Sheepdogs as well but I didn't expect you to chime in with a cat video and such a beautiful one at that. I think I can speak for all of us here when I say we' like...NO we insist on seeing an updated photo of Mickey. Thanks for that wonderful video! BTW..the dogs in my photo are the same dog as a puppy and a year later. ( what a difference a year makes to a sheepdog..LOL) Best, Tim |

Hi Again, I've tried to post a photo but doesn't seem to work,not sure what I did wrong. I looked up the womans blog who saved Mickey and she posted a pic of him a few days after he arrived at my place. Sorry it's a lengthy page but located half way down. You can see why I think this woman is my hero.

YESSS! They're we go. The king of animals, the king of pets, the domestic cat. The "I'm too good for its owners" feline.
Purrs when it wants you, other wise it wants nothing to do with you. The arrogant, stuck up, but occasionally playful and loving, the great cat. It sits on its throne and watches the world. Cat. Cat. Cat. |
