SOUNDS interesting...
Unfortunately, this also isn't one of Paul Harris' best. I have a friend who has this and lent it to me for a while as I too was curious about it and it isn't so fantastic. Firstly, it's very awkward, in a sense that you have to align your spectators to see the image you want them to see on the mirror. Secondly, the effect isn't really that stunning, but if you played it up well, it might stir some amazement. My opinion should be taken with a grain of salt as I haven't tried it out on spectators before, but I've tried the trick and it isn't 'me', and I just found it awkward to show spectators a mirror and then a card and align the two. It isn't as visual as the ad makes it sound, but when the angel DOES appear next to the other one, it is rather pleasing to the eye as it's not expected! Eventhough it is just a revelation by moving the mirror. I think it's a neat idea as you make it seem that you take an angel off the card and slowly deposit it next to the other angel, but it's not exactly fantastic, I think Acme Portable Hole is much more superior. It may suit others better than it suits myself, but it's not something I would use. Rating: 5/10 Hope I was of some help! All the best, Logan

I use the Angel-Effect during my table-hopping-act. It is VERY visual and astonishing to any viewer, BUT because of the small cards only two or three people can follow this effect.
You can buy much replacement cards from A1 to a very reasonable price. Buy it! |

I disagree with Logan. This effect is great! It is soooo visual and fun to do. Yeah, so it's a close-up effect that only two people can see at a time. But let me tell you, those two people will be amazed
It's not an impromptu effect, but when you have it on you it's a killer. And it's easy too.

i totally agree with cardguy. This is a brilliant effect (i think the simplicity of method has put some magicians off it.) Ive also personally found this too be very effective when performed for women. (however, i have only ever performed it for women, i wouldnt feel comfortable performing this for a man!)

It seems that I am mistaken...hmmm...
I guess it's because I haven't really tried it out and all these positive reviews are making me think otherwise! I'll give it a shot and I'll get back to you guys! My opinion was 'too soon', you know where you just open a trick and you see the gimmick and you're just disappointed - yeah, that was me I tried the trick, but not on someone - it's time I did! I'll be back Logan OH MY GOD! I am so wrong and I am GLAD that I am! Darn! I have no idea how this could have gone by me unnoticed! I just sat down and tried it out on myself one more time and I was giving patter to myself, basically delivering the trick to myself and I WAS AMAZED! It's visual and only using a mirror! I apologise for my previous post for it being SO OFF TARGET. This effect is wicked! Nuff said! Rating: 8/10 But the alignment of your spectators is a bit iffy, but it's not so bad! All the best, Logan

Now that you have tried it that way, I suggest you try it according to the 2nd version. This gets great reaction because you get to flick it into there hands. So where does all the magic happen? In there hands. Makes it up close and personal.

Twilight Angels, just like Twilight (with the coins) makes a very weird twist in a magician's/performers head.
You need to have seen it by another magician, who does it well, to look through the method and experience the real effect. I completely fell for the effect. It is SO magical!

Logan: You're cracking me up. The vision of you "pattering" to yourself while you did the trick to yourself was somewhat worrisome (I believe the diagnosis for this is called "schitzoid"), but . . . now that you've tried it on yourself and you were amazed - try it on a real audience. This trick is one of the most original "sleepers" out there. Very strong, very unusual. I've had the awkward problem of return customers just for this trick.

Hey Doug!
Hehehe, yeah! I find that that's the best way for me to incorporate my patter appropriately...although it's when I tell the jokes to myself and laugh to myself that I too get a little worried Hehehe, but yes, I am quite eager to show this effect to people (other than myself, that is ) I have a feeling it'll work better on females...can anyone support that? It's just a hunch... All the best, Logan

logan, i think your right , as i have stated in an earlier message. I think its to do with the emotional response females tend to associate with angelic images. Theres something quite beautiful about the effect that really captures a females imagination. (in saying all this, i still believe a male would be impressed)

Women do tend to respond nicely to this. But it was a mixed family (males/females) that brought an entire crowd to see this again.

Just did it in school today...hoped to have done it to some chicks, but as it turned out, a couple of guys wanted 'to see something', so I just tried my luck and whipped out Twilight Angels and the trick went smoothly, after which they were holding the card and one of them looked at me and said, "Hey dude...what the hell are you doing to yourself? Everytime I see a new trick from you, you seem to be getting more....satanic...it's just too amazing"
Most definitely worth it! All the best, Logan

If it is possible to buy many gimmicked cards, you will make a great effect by giving the card at the end to your spectator as a souvenir!

Yeah, I love this trick, it is simple but very strong. The best way to do is to a couple or female audience as they're more sensitive about "love and relationship" thing.
I'm thinking to get Falling Angel by Christopher Gustin. But I think there's no refills for that trick.

Yeah, I only knew that there is a second version of Twilight Angel but then again it's from Naked Angels on Bike, called "Skywriter".
Never heard about the one where you flick it. Could you share it with us here, Logan?
