Is the Kohler version the one where all the coins jump at once from hand to hand, or if not, what makes it different then the one Roth demonstrates?

No offense but this would have been a good question for this thread.

No, his version is the one that uses a birthday hat tear and a snapper.
Kidding of course. I've heard good things about his handling although I know nothing about it. Maybe he'll put it into a set of notes. I don't know how often he publishes notes but I bought a really good set from him years ago called "Kohler's Tap." |

Here's a take on it. I'd say the original version is pretty easy to do. Think I learned it quite a while back but have never seen Kohler's take on it:

Kohler's take on it is imporoved. Not sure if I am allowed to detail his improvements or not. He did teach it on the PAL International Magic lecture video. I first learned it on David Roth's video, but Kohler's is the handling I use now.
I emailed him about it, maybe he will respond. Dan |

Hi Guys,
My version of Milliken's is slated for release via streaming video when our new web site launches. I've used it professionally for years. I had the honor of showing it to Harry Milliken years ago. It's a very practical handling that is virtually angle proof. |

Hi Bob, I look forward to seeing your take on this. I've always liked this transpo and sure that I will like your take on it. Be sure to let us know here when you put it out. Thanks. And incidentally, I like your work a lot. -Mb

If that is the original handling/presentation, then I am extra happy to have learned it from Bob. Not only does his version vary the method throughout - a very important consideration when doing repetitive effects - but he adds a final phase, which really punctuates the effect and makes it better theatre. Plus there's no tangerine squeezing involved.
Bob also suggested much better coin choices than a half-dollar and a penny. I'll talk to Bob and see if he wants to add my in and out aspects to his streaming video version. TW

Bob's version of this trick is great. One of the very few coin tricks I enjoy watching. At least when Bob does it, that is.

I checked Bob's site today and it says "Streaming Coming Soon." Maybe I can hunt down the PAL International Magic lecture video from him.

Yeah, maybe he'll get email too. For Christ's sake, this string is from 6 years ago now…"Streaming Coming Soon???" Yeah, right!

I emailed him abut the routine and he said the only way to learn it is to sign up for his $799 Coin Workshop.
You can't say I wasn't patient though. I waited 6 years for him to put it on his site before asking about it again. |
