Just started using my hand into one of my Folkmanis puppets to play a xylophone.

Anyone actually use their hands within puppets to do magic or other sight gags?

Interesting concept that I had not really thought of before. it certainly would add to a lot of the fun for the children in the audience. It also opens you up to a lot more creativity and byplay between you and the puppet. Nice ideas.

Googly eyes that fit over your middle finger also open up a lot of possibility with this simple hand puppet. Lately have been playing with thimble manipulation with one hand while the left has the eyes....

inspired by a you tube video of small eyes on fingers doing the ball and vase...

I have a Folkmanis puppet of a cowboy in storage. They're beautifully made. I think he cost me about £70, but a year earlier I bought an old man puppet for £50 and the quality compared to Folkmanis is very poor. Must start using it!

I have a Small Wildthing from Axtell that has no hands or arms, but I use her mouth to do the temple screen and pull things out of the square circle. It's perfect because she's a busybody character.

Another puppet I use is a Lady bug puppet.
She helps me do a nearly normal adaptation of Blazing Saddles...After the work is done she helps in the final where the cards are shown to have switched places..

Her legs are my fingers...
