I have all three of His books and would be surprised if it was less than great.

I have it, but haven't had the time to watch it yet. Perhaps now might be a good time. I, also, would be surprised if it isn't good. I know this post was totally useless and unhelpful. Sorry.
Mark

This is the Miracle Moves DVD by Jim Swain. I gave it a quick look through and will watch it with cards in hand tonight. I recall Jim's shoot as being a lot of fun. This moves DVD has no performance on it. For all of you who want to see no audience at all, here is your chance. For my taste that format is a little dry.
I will give you a better idea of the material, which I recall is some very excellent material and some of it is more unique to Jim's work which is more "expert card handler"... which he is! I'm sure that stuff will be a good fit with the die hard card guys. Cheers, Tom |

Just watched most of it. It's a good resource for moves. . . not really great for entertainment. . . not the kind of thing you're just going to throw in to watch. . . unless there's something specific you want off of it. But, it's quite good with clear instruction and explanation. It's worth far more than what I paid for it.

Some of the material is come to life from his books, and some is also found in the Miracles With Cards set which is now off the market. In particular one item was going to be explained on the video set but it wasn't. IT appears here for the first time. That item is, I believe, the Swain One-Handed Cut.
On the Miracle Moves DVD you will find work on second deals and some great detail on double lifting using a multiple push off with no get ready. There are some nice false shuffles and false cuts including the Thompson-Conover False Cut. There is also a great section on Roger Klaus' Riffle Pass work. One of the hilights is seeing the Swain Miracle Change, but it is shown as just a move, so you don't get an idea what it looks like in context of a routine. No moves DVD would be complete without work on the pass. On Miracle Moves you will find work on the dribble pass and Jim's work on the little known Pass Palm. You will also see Swain's Turnover Pass taught. There are a few more items on the DVD but I'll let others share those. Like I said above, this is teaching only, no performance. This DVD makes a great resource for moves both common and unique. And since it is free from L&L it is all the more reason to get it. Whether you are seasoned and looking to broaden your resources of moves, or relatively new to card magic and looking for a resource on a great foundation of card work you will find well taught moves which you will practice and use. Cheers, Tom |

Actually he doesn't. Chris has mentioned that another magic shop sold these for under 100 dollars, as well as posting a detailed review of the 4 disk set.

If someone asks for a review on any product, you could post "why don't you buy the product and stop asking for reviews". I bought the set from a shop that I love to give business to. I asked for a review because if you just spend $25 at L&L, L&L will give you the Swain DVD. I'm trying to find out if it's worth it. So, I have a purchasing strategy that the annonymous poster isn't smart enough to do themselves.

Well, now you have a point. Geez, it's a freakin' tennis match around here. I figured that's what you were doing.
Anyway, just giving you a hard time. Poke poke! Heh heh heh.

If we're not anonymous, does that mean we do have the answers?
I got the DVD when I purchased Eugene's new one. Like the rest, I haven't had time to fully digest it. There is solid material on there, and it's a question of whether or not you'll use it. If you're looking at getting something from L&L to begin with, you can't go wrong. |
