Hi Joe,
Is there any central theme to the routine you are doing or wanting to do? Is it geared towards children or more adult crowd? Can you describe briefly what your style of performance is or your character? Answers to these will help us all to better help you with suggestions and ideas that are more in line with what you are trying to accomplish. Kyle

There is a wonderfull routine from french magician Duraty. It is called "Any color called for" and you have a tissue bag with several white silks in it. You ask several members from the audience to call different colors and every time you take a white silk and you change its color to the color desired. Its easily accomplished and gives a lot of room for loughs about every color symbols. Must look for the symbols and explenation of colors. If you have some trouble I can help,
Best, Soleil

You know that it is very easy to use a Sharpie Pen to put messages on a real silk?
Put it in blank and pull it through with the correct answer. Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

I didn't realize just how professional a message would look using a Sharpie Pen on silk until Bob convinced me to try it! It is beautiful and looks as good as many of the screen printed ones I have seen!
Thanks Bob for all the helpful hints you share with all of us in the magic community daily! ~Nanci |

Go to Silk King Studios and order Capers in Color. Snap silks are in there.
It is called "The diminishing silk production" ChrisG

Also do a search on the key words Snap Silk and you will find a discussion and other references.

But, in print, its really good. Other lines could be: After doing the change: "It's still a bit off color" Here's one I don't know what to do with: "I must've red, it wrong" Here's one I will steal from Weatherby the magician.. "Green, Green, Green" (telephone rings). "yellow" (I am answering the phone.) Using the sharpie thing, you could put Orange, red, and green and call it fruit, produce a picture of fruit cocktail or a fruit bowl from the dye tube. Use a green and white and black and do your frog silk production. How's this...do a miniature mismade flag routine. Take the red white and blue, drop the blue and come up with a flag without the blue, add the blue and do the mismade colors, then shake the hand and make the flag right. Do it all with a dye tube and small silks. Your flag load could be wrapped around the dye tube the entire time, instead of in it. Gotta stop, my head hurts. Next week, the dye tube book!!

We would love to have a Dye Tube book from you. Will it include streamers and diamond cuts? Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

Tell him to tuck the silk in his hand as you are doing with yours. Yours come out a green color. Ignore his is still red. Tell him to put in thru again to make it turn red again like yours. At the end look at his red silk explaining to everyone he did a good job. Another idea is to tell a story about a salesman came to your door trying to sell you a washing machine. Explain how he put your dirty clothes (representing a black silk) in the washing machine and they came out clean (representing a white silk). Explain your wife got home as you surprised her with the washing machine. You showed her how good it cleans by putting in her dirty clothes (representing a black silk). When the machine was finished you were surprised the washing machine damaged your wife clothes (representing a white silk with holes in it). Steve Darci shows a good comedy rountine using a volunteer with a silk and egg on one of is DVDs. |
