Please come onto the creativity thread and add your ideas....
I am guessing they will add a lot.. Familiarity is an element of comedy that I use frequently. Starting with something simple starts the well flowing. Stepping to far out of the box..(and I do on occassion) usually only amuses me.

I am on the creativity thread...MY creativity thread (insert evil laugh)
They also say familiarty breeds contempt. All I am saying is if your starting position is the beaten tried and true path, there is only so far you can go...and if it has been done before, it ain't creative. i.e. the root of the word is create. |

Tomuchmagic: Um it was a joke. Cerainly not meant to be taken seriously. I have known Lyndel for a long time and I just personally thought what he said (and his definition) was pretty humerous. No need for the insult although you are entitled to your own opinion.
Also, sometimes you have to start with the familiar idea (or concept) before you can venture off into unfamiliar territory. In my art background and as a graphic designer, we pratice and implement this a lot in brainstorming sessions within the marketing company. You start with the familiar and through study of what is familiar you get a better understanding. Then you can venture away from it into other territory that has not been explored before. It is a common practice in many creative professions and generates a lot of great and creative solutions. Kyle

Yeah, I think if one wishes to toss around insults, they need to find another forum. A negative and condescending tone is not very flattering to the offender. I guess that one finds it much easier to be nasty and sometimes downright rude when they are concealing their identity on a forum such as this.

Like I said before... And I will say again now... And I am positive I will say in the future.
I was searching for consistency on this board. I asked an honest question about a legitimate concern I have about the poor attitude of some who post here often. The response I got was back patting and ego stroking among a bunch of other illogical nonsense. If you are going to misinterpret my intentions, and then blame it on me I suppose I can not win...though I will stick to what I said as I am confident I am correct. |

How can you expect consistency on a board populated by individuals with many different viewpoints and agendas?
I don't believe that Kyle has ever been rude to a newcomer asking for advice - so why the personal attacks on him? I find that the rude people tend to be consistently rude, the helpful guys are consistently helpful and the clueless guys are consistent in there cluelessness - surely that's the best we can expect.
