For those who have pre-ordered, the new DVD is DONE! YAY. John Cerbone and I finished it last week while in Las Vegas.
Over three dozen skits performed and explained before live audiences, with hours of classroom instruction. Now that you have them hypnotized, what next? This DVD answers the question! Shipping will start on Wed. to those who pre-ordered, and I think Paula still has the preorder price posted at HypnosisGurus.com so if you haven't ordered, get it now while you can still save $20. I am sure she will update the price any day. -Richard

I love bringing these videos to you, and Richard is one of the best, and truly a blast to work with, which I think comes through in our work.
Hope you enjoy this one as much as you did Speed-Trance! Hypnotically, The Trance-Master aka John |

Richard, can you give us rundown on the contents of the DVD? I'm just hoping they are not the traditional skits that we all know about anyways. Is this recomended for a working pro or someone starting out? Looking forward to it. I can always do with new material.

We demonstrate a lot of new and unique bits, and some old classics. Both beginner and those who have been doing stage hypnosis for a while will find something valuable. Classic skits like Voo-Doo Doll, hot/cold, etc. are on here as well as many unique creations or new ideas for old skits. Here is the blurb sent to Murphys magic:
Skits & Bits: Learn How to Create Astonishing Stage Hypnosis Skits and Routines Amazing Things You Can Do in Stage & Street Shows. Unique, Hilarious, and Astonishing Stage Hypnosis Skits! You know how to hypnotize people, but what do you do with them next? Creating participant and audience response is no accident; there is an order and a method for creating a hilarious comedy stage show. This two-DVD set is features actual Las Vegas stage show performance clips, with real people doing funny stuff - and detailed instruction from "Speed Trance" creators, Richard Nongard and John Cerbone. Packed with hours of information, these DVDs teach: * How to create a dynamic opening skit * See almost three dozen skits performed live and explained step-by step * Why the order of skits is important * How to use hypnotic phenomena to create mind-blowing comedy * How to do funny skits and astonishing skits, word-for-word * How and why classics, like Martian language, hot/cold and hypnotic amnesia skits work. * How to create original skits like Cerbone and Nongard do * How to keep a show moving along with high impact * How to adapt skits for all audiences and rating from "family friendly" to "adult". * How to use powerful and funny show-closers and post-hypnotic suggestions to end on a high note. If you want stage hypnosis training or are considering a stage hypnosis seminar or class, these DVDs are essential to your learning. You will know how to structure and perform a complete stage hypnosis show after watching these videos, and you will enjoy the mix of classroom explanation with clips from live performances. Although this DVD contains skits of all ratings, be advised that because many of these clips come from Las Vegas nightclub performances, some adult language and themes are used.

Got mine too, but I will be able to give a detail review the following week.
Just watched few sections and can say that looks a good acquisition. Keep in touch for more details, ok. |

I have finished the first disc and will now examine the second disk. I have already gotten the full value from this but I will post more detail in a couple days.
I thought I would just watch this and write about it but it deserves more thinking. It fills a big gap in hypnotism training...how to actually do the routines...but again, more later. |

I just finished watching the first DVD myself and have to say it's pretty good. I wish the audio of the show clips was a bit louder, but can't win 'em all, right? There's good information given, as well as entertaining anecdotes used as examples.
I'm still not entirely sure I'm going to do stage hypnosis as a main thing, but if I ever get called on to do a show, thanks to this DVD, I'd have a repertoire handy. Joshua |

The first dvd is well worth the money. I was impressed by the over all thoroughness of material covered. Having a background in mentalism and hypnosis, this was a treat to experience. Great job!

OK, I have now finished the two DVD’s of the Skits and Bits and had some time to think. I will start with the conclusion and then expand from there.
If you are just beginning in stage hypnotism this set will be very, very valuable for you. If you have experience you will still get your money’s worth from them…so on to the discussion. When learning stage hypnotism from different sources I have found that most sources are at least adequate when teaching pre-talk and induction. Most also do an acceptable job teaching the basic framework of a show and a few things to watch for. Then they get to the show itself and its “go get ‘em boy”, you get a list of skits and you are on your own. For example one web site of skits lists quite a few ideas…I’ll copy a couple skits here; Alien You are an alien from another planet, but you have learned English. Audience Naked Tell the subjects that they will look out into the audience and notice that everyone is naked. Auto Race Tell all of the subjects that they are professional race car drivers and will now be driving in a race. Babies Come From? I know that all of you are very smart for being in the first grade. I need your help, I am trying to find out where babies come from. Whoever knows, raise your hand. Baby Burp You are holding a cute little baby. The baby is starting to cry. You need to burp the baby. As you burp the baby something is coming out of both ends of the baby. Bad Odor Tell all of the subjects that they will begin to notice a bad odor coming from the person sitting next to them. Become A Celebrity Tell the group that they are all well known celebrities. You may then have them introduce themselves or conduct an interview with a select few. Body Itch On the count of three, some part of your body is beginning to itch. You will need to scratch it. Bragger You are the worlds biggest bragger. Bra Zipper Every time I touch my chin the women will realize that their bra strap has just broken. The men will realize each time I touch my chin their zipper is open. These are just a few I copied from the beginning of the list…so now you have to do a show. You don’t know what to do from here? You don’t know how to develop these ideas into entertainment? When I started neither did I. Being given a list of skits does not teach you how to do them. This brings us to the DVD set being discussed. I have always thought that to some extent experience can be bought…Skits and Bits is a very good example of this. Skits and Bits is an instructional set I wish I had when I started out. It is a good discussion of several types of skits with demonstrations. What skits to do and when are important…this is discussed in detail. Also taught are how to take a skit and make it go from G-rated to R-rated. What I found very helpful with this set was the discussion between the two hypnotists. Not only do they discuss the skits before and after the live show demonstrations but the contrast between the two hypnotist’s approaches to each skit is very instructive. One will mention how they do something in a skit and the other will input their thoughts and variations. It is like being included in a hypnotist’s jam session and is very instructive. Another advantage of this set is you get to see both standard skits and ones you haven’t seen before. If you begin like most hypnotists you learn the basics and then attend shows, secretly making notes and thinking about doing those skits. Skits and Bits has all the basics in one place. By the time you pay a cover and buy a few drinks you will have spent more than the cost of this set, with far less to show for it. As I mentioned, if you are just starting in stage hypnotism Skits and Bits will accelerate your learning how to actually do a show rapidly. So, what if you have experience? This set also has value then. Everyone does things a bit different and little touches can always be added to what you do. In addition the discussions increase in value here as I found myself thinking how I would do things differently. Two examples…one skit uses a voodoo or magical doll as the core plot trigger. I immediately thought about my white bunny puppet and considered how I might develop the routine unique to my own personality. This routine also had me thinking back to a routine I once developed but kind of flopped. I had an old Danny O’Day vent puppet and set up a routine where a girl married the puppet in a hypnotic wedding ceremony. Problem was how to finish the skit off….I now have an idea how I would do that. Another routine that got me thinking was their version of the quiz show. I liked how they steered the answers but thought I would use totally different questions. The quiz show also triggered a few thoughts on a Jerry Springer routine I’ve done. In that routine the participants become Jerry Springer guests and as one guest said during a routine, “When this trailer’s rockin’ don’t come knockin’ “…the quiz show discussion triggered ideas of other places I could take this within the context of the Jerry Springer skit. Everything can’t be covered as you can’t anticipate all the things your participants might do. When they were discussing the standard “Elvis” routine I thought of how I do that routine. I also use a woman as Elvis but had a surprise one show. We were on a stage in an auditorium and the stage was about five feet above the first row of seats. When the Elvis music started this girl took the plastic guitar and leapt off the stage, diving into the audience before I could react. I was just lucky there wasn’t an orchestra pit there. I tell this story as it is important that you understand that no matter how basic a skit seems you don’t get cocky. This is discussed but needs to be addressed and emphasized over and over…just because you know a skit doesn’t mean you can turn your brain off. Everyone is different and there are skits here I wouldn’t do as I only play G-rated. You need to know that you will see people humping chairs and having screaming orgasms. Before anyone gets on a pedestal to criticize these skits it is important you know that there is a big market for this type of hypnotism. One example is if you ever play a college fraternity. These guys will not be happy if you stay G-rated…they really want the strong stuff and want to see someone bark like a dog (also covered within the context of one skit). I have become a big fan of DVD instruction and will write a bit on that later…it isn’t a substitute for personal instruction, nothing is. Still it is worlds better than learning from books and will save you many months, if not years, of learning from trial and error. The publishers of this DVD have several DVD’s out…their website is; http://www.vegasstagehypnosis.com/ A good beginning can be had from just this site. You would need three DVD’s… First, you should get Stage Hypnosis Exposed. Then you need an induction…either the Terry Stokes relaxation induction or the Micheal John’s induction will work well. Then get the Skits and Bits DVD set. These are way more than I ever had to start stage and will give you both the theoretical and practical skills you need to begin in stage hypnotism. |

Well, after watched both DVDs what I can say after mota’s review, I complete agree with him.
I have most of the Stage Hypnosis Trainings and no one talks in detail about this matter. This DVD set coverts in deep what most of the others omitted, and it will help the newbie to learn faster in his long way career. Good job Richard. |

I was alittle hesitant to put all the adult material but I wanted people to see the whole spectrum. For those who have seen it, was it a good idea to segregate the most adult routines to the end as I did? Since it was filmed in Vegas the language is a little "R" rated, but I tried to edit the best I could. Sometimes it is hard to judge my own work. For those who have seen the DVD, did I handle the adult material correctly or does anyone have any suggestions for a re-edit - or would you leave it as it is?
