I am curious if this is in print anywhere..I have viewed it several times on Malone's " Here I Am Again " Vol 1 DVD. Instead of transcribing it I thought If I could locate it in print somewhere or possibly if someone else had already transcribed it that wouldn't mind sharing. If not I guess I will transcribe it myself.

Bill Pryor of Haines House of Cards used to carry the Rub A Dub Dub cups and balls and it had the full patter in the instructions. I'm sure you don't need the cups and balls, but it was only a few bucks so it might be worth it to you for the whole set. Good luck.

Rub-A-Dub was "written" by Harley Day here in St. Louis. The only reason it was sold with cups and balls (they were miniature cups, not regular size,) is that the routine uses five balls, not the usual four. It was originally a Sterling Magic Product distributed by the now defunct DeVoe Magic Den.

Rub-A-Dub-Dub was written by Jack Bateman, and was one of the first products put out by Gene Gordon. It came in an envelope as a 2 sided paper manuscript, with 5 small flat felt "balls". It was quite the rage in the late 1940s and early 1950s. The Gene Gordon line of magic was sold a couple of times, and the current owner of this and the other effects is Phil Wilmarth.
It was not owned by Sterling Magic, or the DeVoe-Sterling line, after Gene DeVoe bought them, but was sold quite heavily in the St. Louis area by both Town House Magic, and later the DeVoe Magic Den. |

Does anyone know a dealer that might still have this available...OR does anyone here have one for sale or trade?

A friend of mine who has passed recently (Keith Miller), always liked this after I performed it for him when I lived in Kirksville. I think I originally bought at a magic convention in Des Moines.
Anyway, Keith had the rountine on a video and I think this is the one, it's from Michael Skinner: http://magicref.tripod.com/magref/magcups.htm search for "dub' |

See the Genii magazine with the Michael Skinner tribute. The routine along with the write-up is in there.

I stand corrected. It was done by Jack Bateman and marketed through Gene Gordon. I often confuse the two old magic houses because they both did ALOT of mimeographed instructions in envelopes and Sterling had quite a few similar items. I dug mine out and T. House's history is absolutely correct.
