Hi Hansel,

-What type of venue do you usually perform in?
-Size of audience, sight-lines, and angles?
-Do you always / often have an assistant"
-Do you travel by car / truck / air?
-What is your illusion budget-- hundreds, thousands?
-How much experience do you have with larger illusions?
-What style of magic do you generally perform?
-What are some of your favorite effects?
-Are you looking for something serious comic?
-Mainly adult, family, child, or corporate work?

When you give use more info we can give you much better clearer ideas!

Weeeeeeeell... that all depends on your show...

Do you have a theme? Do you have an assistant? What's your space limitations? Do you need to perform surrounded? What's your necessary set-up time? How much space do you have to transport your equipment? There's many questions that need to be taken into account before adding an illusion to a parlour show.

Most magicians start with an illusionette- a small illusion that plays big, without the hassles of a full-sized illusion. Some examples of these include the bow saw, the wrist chopper, even the flaming head chest.

"add to my parlour magic"......I will assume NOT a children's show.

No assistant.....a guillotine...a six foot one or a good head chopper

With assistant.....Modern Art....Kube Zag....both mysteries close-up.

All of the above would serve you well in parlour conditions, right up to the stage performance. (As a note..I used to use a Zig-zag close-up and surrounded in a restaurant between tables...it played very well and really baffled.)

I would do the Konundrum Kube, Kube Zag, or the like. These are small enough for most areas and can be done completely surrounded. Every venue I have done the Konundrum Kube at it has been an instant hit. It packs flat and plays big. I ca fit it in the back of my wife's Honda Pilot with my suitcase table. Good luck.
