The additional materials needed for the dry mount process that I was referring to (above) do not include the Lassen Genii (although I like it so much I bought two of them). What you need is the dry mount tissue, and I would also recommend photo release paper. All can be found HERE at a good price. Craig's book is a great source of information, but there are portions of his method that I do not follow (I don't, for example, square the cards and then later round the corners). Marty's DVD offers a more in depth tuturial on the actually process and nuances of splitting, which I personally found very helpful. Group together Marty's DVD (or lecture notes if you prefer) with Craig's book and Ken Driscoll's pamphlet and you'll know pretty much all you need to know. Todd's Gaffing Genii makes it that much better for me, but as Silverking has mentioned, it is certainly not essential.

I have had to make some standard Bicycle backed cards with various company logos or products on the faces for corporate functions. I have found it useful to get a commercially available deck of blank faced Bicycles. I then cut out the corporate logo or illustration of appropriate size and center it on one of the blank faced cards with removable tape and copy it in a color laser copier at Kinko's. The photocopy "card" is cut out with a hobby knife and attached to another blank faced card with artist's spray adhesive. If there is any overlap it can be easily trimmed with the hobby knife. A quality copier also reproduces the "texture" appearance of the face surrounding the illustration and looks quite good. I think it is a quick and cheap way to make a few gaffs for close-up or packet tricks and is well suited to this purpose.
