Frank & Walt:

I'm so glad you enjoyed the DVDs!

As far as my customer service is concerned, I deserve none of the credit. Most of the time I am on the road doing my magic act, So, I have two people that do a great job in filling the orders and running the day to day internet business of LeventMagic.com

I will let them know about your comments!

Kingry:

I'm happy that you are re-reading these wonderful classic magic books.

One of the Downs moves that I really love is the "New Fan Pass". When I read about the move in the books, I was not impressed. But years later someone showed me a 3 or 4 second film clip of Downs actually doing the move and I was blown away. I was very pleased to be able to show the move as Downs did it.

The same can be said "40 Coin Palm & Pass"!

Best regards,
Levent

What is just plain weird ...and also very entertaining,
is the way Levant "channels" the routines of the greats of the genre.
Not that he impersonates them in any way,
he just has an eye and a knack for capturing what they *might* have taught!

We're never going to have Al Flosso or Charlie Miller here again to session,
but Levent gives a clear idea of what these masters might have demonstrated.
His absorption of detail and ability to recall routines is really spooky,
and makes these DVDs encyclopedic and biographic at the same time.

Levent's research must have been exhaustive not to mention his learning curve.
Thanks again for this addition to the world's magical library.

Magically,
Walt

Hi Guys:

If anyone is interested in seeing me perform my Miser's Dream routine Live. I will be performing it on May 5th as part of my show at St. Clement's Theater in New York City (www.MondayNightMagic.com) and I will also perform and teach the routine at my upcoming lectures in New York (May 3rd), Pennsylvania (May 7th), Maryland (May 9th).

Due to time constraints I will not be performing the Miser's Dream during my appearance at the Borgata Casino Hotel Atlantic City (May 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th and May 18th).

Well Levent. I am new to the miser dream but I can't see myself going anywhere else but to your DVD. I have been wanting for something good to come my way so I can learn this awesome effect and now I get my chance. I couldn't pass up this great deal. Almost a hundred dollar value for $39.95. Thanks Levent.

Hi Guys:

The noted magic consultant and historian Charles Reynolds recently watched the entire DVD set and had the following to say about it:

"Levent’s Ultimate Guide to The Miser’s Dream is an astonishing work of both scholarship and practical teaching. Based on his own very original version of the classic effect which he has performed and perfected over a period of more than two years, his own staggeringly detailed analysis of the effect examines the work of such masters as Robert-Houdin, T.Nelson Downs, Al Flosso, Charlie Miller, Pat Page, Roy Benson, Jose Frakson, Allan Shaw and literally dozens of other top performers. It is hard to believe that there is not a sleight, routine, or bit of business that he has missed in researching the more than a century and a half history of what is arguably the greatest of all coin tricks. At an almost unbelievable five and a half hours in length (3 excellently produced DVDs) it is the definitive work on one of magic’s true masterpieces."

Levent, I received the dvds and I truly enjoyed every bit of it. These should cost more for their value. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Paul Potassy showed me a kellar coin catcher that attaches to the bucket. That could have been in your dvd, too.
May we know what is your next dvd project on?

Hi Lou:

I am very happy that you received the products!!!

Yes, the coin gimmick that Mr. Potassy showed you is explained on Disc Two of the set, under the chapter heading "Conradi Gimmick".

I do have quite a few projects that I am working on. When they get closer to release, I will certainly make announcements.

Best regards,
Levent

Hi Levent. I just finished watching your DVD today and I do have a few questions. In your routine you hand your bucket to one of your spectators. Aren't you afraid that they might look inside and see one of the gimmicks? And same thing with the coin that you hand to the spectator?

All,

I got the DVDs over a week ago and finally got done watching them a second time. If anyone doesn't have them yet, GET THEM. They are bar-none, the final word on Miser's Dream.

Levent really does an amazing job of covering every aspect of the effect. My favourite part was the in-depth explanations of many classic versions of the Miser's Dream and the scholarship involved in tracing the history and evolution of the effect well before it got it's modern name. It is covered from so many angles, styles and aspects that you will have to look no further in creating whatever kind of Miser's Dream routine you could ever conceive of. My stage version is going through a great overhaul right now.

Levent has outdone himself and the price is paltry for the amount of information, moves, methods and routines given here. It's easily worth four or five times the asking price. This is a massive contribution to magic.

Hi Jerrid:

It's a matter of distraction and speed!

I suddenly lean forward, hand someone seated in the front row a heavy metal pail, make them hold is at chest level, I immediately pick up and hold a object that belongs to them (such as a purse, camera, cell phone, a shoe, etc.), I pour coins out of their property into the pail, then snatch the pail back from them and give them back their personal item. Believe Me, the last thing they are interested is the contents of the pail, they are more concerned about what I am doing with their personal items. I have Never Ever seen anyone look into the pail, they are just shocked by what I am doing to them and their personal items and my action never pauses long enough for them to look into the pail.

As far as the coin in the hand, the person look as it for a few moments and then afterwards all their attention is focused on me (the performer on the stage).

Just finished watching them. My favourite part is the Al Flosso routine. But wow, this is a wealth of information about the Miser's Dream! Very timely for me because I've been wanting to learn a Miser's Dream routine for a long time. This is not only food for thought, it's appetizer and dessert as well! Great attention to detail, and very comprehensive. Also, Levent is a very good teacher, and reminds me of Kevin Spacey with a Brooklyn accent.

Thanks for the great work!

These DVD's are definitely fantastic to watch. My Cover was cracked too unfortunately, but it was minor, and no disks were dislodged. Its such an amazing set. I would have liked some kinda of overview or index sheet, to know what was on each disc, there is so much stuff it makes finding one thing a little tricky.

The DVD's inspired me to get one of the Bell Buckets from Magic Inc. It arrived yesterday and its fantastic.

I attended Levent's lecture at Marc Desouza's in Phila this week.

I have to say this was one of the best lectures I ever attended. This was a true "Lecture" including most of the presentation projected onto a screen while Levent meticulously talked about the origin of effects (billiard balls, salt pour, misers dream, etc.)the evolution of the effects, showed original footage of Roy Benson and Cardini acts, and breaking the down the moves. He also described his "rules of stage magic" from his book " Roy Benson - Magic By Starlight". Seeing these principles in action really made an impact.

All I can say is Levent is very passionate about the art of magic. He REALLY wants you to learn.

In contrast, there are many 1 trick pony DVD's on the market that sell for $30. If I wind up using the effect at all, many times I'm changing the handling so it fits me better.

I purchased The Salt Pour DVD/gimmick and the Misers Dream DVDs at the lecture. These have to be the best value for your money in magic. I finished watching the Salt Pour DVD and it is incredible...why? Because Levent not only shows you his exact set up he uses in his own show, but all the different variations from the past masters. In this case, I don't have to come up with my own handling, but the difficulty is choosing one from all the variations that are explained. That part will be fun.

I only watched Disc one of the Misers Dream, but I can see it follows the same path as the Salt Pour DVD...excellent thus far. I perform the Misers Dream in my children's show and I vary the techniques through out the routine...but I will be restructuring it soon because of new inspiration I received watching Levent's routine at the lecture.

Let me say this...if you were to see the construction first of everything needed to perform Levent's Misers Dream routine, you would say "are you nuts!...that will never work!" I was completely fooled with portions of the routine. I thought Levent was going to announce his real name as Bruce Wayne...because when I saw some of the contraptions I immediately thought of Batman. The thing is the Misers Dream can be performed in the purest form...a pail and some coins...which is how I do it. But with Levent's expert sleight of hand combined with gimmicks, it takes it to another level. I know I won't be going to the extent of Levent...but I will definitely be exploring more options.

If you can't tell...I thoroughly enjoyed Levent and his products.

Just wanted to note Levent's amazing customer service. After posting above that my case came cracked (discs were fine so I wasn't worrying and the crack was minor) Levent contacted me on his own behalf to rectify this tiny problem. I just wanted to publicly say thanks to Levent, as his customer service with his products are exemplary. I definitely won't hesitate ordering anything from him again, and am looking into his other products.
