Hi Budi,
That's what's great about wood figures, like what Hartz makes... Each one is most likely a different figure/character because each one is custom made, carved by hand. A very difficult task!

I know you love your Hartz...

Wanlu,
as I don't use the old men in the SAME show, their voices are very similiar. Yes, it very difficult to have many voices.

For others to see here is my Hartz collection

Wanlu,

OFF TOPIC:

I don't have the skill like Conrad Hartz to build figures, but I am able to do Scrollsaw Portaits.

Here is a sample of my work. Know this guy?

Hi Donald,

I received an email today from Mr Hartz telling me that he will start a project for me Smile

Wow!!! Smile

Im asking for a sweet old man Smile a figure I can use for both adult and kiddie shows Smile

I was afraid to ask him so I did not, but how long do you think it takes him to finish a figure?

Wanlu,

I waited well over a year. I know that is a long time to wait, but the quality and workmanship are well worth it. I hope he gave you a timeframe of that period and if it gets there earlier, "Happy Days are Here Again."

Several years ago, a friends ordered one from him and had it in about 4 months if I recall. About a 100 hours will go into the making of the figure aand some of those hours seem longer than others.

Did you send him a drawing or are you going with a design of his?

I just said...Sweet old balding man with white hair and brows Smile and told him its for BOTH my kidshows and adult shows Smile Not scary but not cartoony either.

He said he has an idea already...I actually waited over a year and after several follow up emails, he finally said he's starting in on Monday Smile

I don't really care if it takes a year...as long as he started making it already Smile

In the meantime, Im selling my Payes old man to give way for the new figure already Smile I will use my Axtell Storyteller while Im waiting for the new Hartz Smile

Thanks Smile

Waiting has it rewards.
Some time ago, Conrad said that becasue of the time factor he was NO longer going to do custom figures. He was going to make figures as time allowed him and then offer them for sale. This seems to be what he has done, (an occassional offerig of a figure for sale on WorldVents) and as such it's a good thing that he has changed his mind and IS going to start to make one for you.

As always be sure to give us a glimpse (he sent me some in progress pixs of the figure) of it when you can.
