Winks Diary by Bill Thompson by RSVP Magic.
http://www.rsvpmagic.com/winks_1.html This looks interesting, I am even tempted to pre-order it before it has been reviewed here at the Café !! Something I don't think I have ever done. The "no multiple outs" is very attractive ! I have very little mentalism effects in my repertoire and this looks very good. Warren |

Bill showed me this a few weeks ago when I visited his place. The method is very simple, very direct and leaves lots of room to focus on the presentation.
He fooled me badly at first and then I laughed my socks off when he revealed the methodology. It's devious. I own both Paul Gordon's and Paul Green's diary tricks and this is a much cleaner method. If you're thnking of buying a diary trick this is the one to get in my opinion. Especially as you don't need a deck of cards to perform it! |

Hello millarhouse,
Yes, Winks Diary really is that good! The method is simple, but extremely effective and best of all direct and to the point. No dealing down cards, in fact as the advertising says "No cards are needed" and it's true. Using no cards at all really does make the spectator feel that they had a free choice in the whole thing! The DVD contains two versions, one by Peter Nardi with no cards and the alternative of Bill Thompson's (performed by Martin Sanderson) using a deck. Best, Russ |

Hi John,
The idea is neat and everyone that has seen it so far have raved about it. This afternoon Bill Thompson showed it to Jeff McBride who said "I never saw that coming. It's great and you can quote me". Greg Frewin wanted to buy one on the spot and said it was "Awesome". He's talking about featuring it as a close-up piece in his current show. It's available at Blackpool where it's being released. See you there John. Best, Russ |

Hi Matt,
You have no maths to do at all. I have made mine up using my bonus routine that is included on the DVD. I know Russ has got a winner with this one! I just wish this was an Alakazam product:-) Peter |

Russ,
I think I'll be picking this up from you at Blackpool, looks really good. I assume the trailer misses something out? I'm guessing that the spectator tells/writes down their birthdate before you write your prediction on the business card? I'll also be getting the new Mel Mellers from you too! You cost me too much money Russ! AP |

I guessed there maybe some editing
but I also appreiciate the creator's concerns of exposure, revelation etc... and when you look at who is behind this effect, how could you not be in! can't wait for it ......... |

Hi Adam and Matt,
The spectator doesn't write down their birthdate or anything else for that matter. The spectator merely THINKS of ANY card in the deck, from which the date is generated. It's that clean! The method is really simple, but I've yet to have anyone figure it out. The new Mel Mellers DVD is really good too. If you liked his first two volumes then you'll love this! I really love his version of Confabulation (Agony Aunt) that uses no carbon and is so easy to do. That and the presentation that he gives you on the DVD, are pure gold to any working magician. Look forward to seeing you there Adam! Have a great convention. Best, Russ |
