Sine we seem to be throwing hitchiker logic into things.
There is no life in the universe. Not even us. What is the Population of the universe- "None. Although you might see people from time to time, they are most likely products of your imagination. Simple mathematics tells us that the population of the Universe must be zero. Why? Well given that the volume of the universe is infinite there must be an infinite number of worlds. But not all of them are populated; therefore only a finite number are. Any finite number divided by infinity is zero, therefore the total population of the Universe is zero." Gwyd |

Of course there are aliens but some kind of Galactic law will prevent them contacting barbarians like us until we can cope with them psychologically. The ones we do see are illicit smugglers who are making a fortune flogging Krispy Kreme donuts to Betelgeusians.
On the time travel front I love the theory that Time Travel will be only be impossible until somebody builds the receiver. It would explain our relative stability to date but then God knows what happens once the receiver is built !!! |

Enginemagic: You must know where your Towel is at all times. It has nothing to do with ants, though it could. Reference please 'The Hitchikers Guide To The Galaxy' by Douglas Adams. However you would have to expand your horizon and drop the pistons...

I love seeing two of my favorite non magic authors show up on the same thread in a magic forum,
Douglas Adams and Robert Heinlein both had interesting takes on religion, aliens and time travel. thanks to both, I always know where my towel is and keep gold taped to my body at all times (just in case) Rich

To quote Doug Higley from his Feb. 10th post: "Nothing says you can't be in two places at once." End of quote
Such a preposterous claim deserves some clarification from you, Doug. After all, each person is a single entity. And as a single individual, you obviously can Not be in two places at the same time, Doug. |

The 'High' horse...an archaic term before your time...(months, years?) usually alluded to when one is questioning the ability or willingness to dismount of another.
Andy Moss...thank you...but Zen is but another word for 'Nothin' left to lose'...so not quite.

Everything around us is alien. The more we get to know another being, the more we realize just how different they are.
