Fair point 'jonesc2ii' ... "Do not perform anything in public that cannot be performed with the utmost ease in private"
That aside the only way to develop your presentation and performance skills (which are just as important as the techniocal skills) is to perform. Organise some dinner parties and provide a little light entertainment for your guests. Take your deck of cards down the pub - sometimes performing for your own friends is great experience as they often prove your most critical audience. I feel that the key to gaining performing experience, besided offering free gigs etc, is to be prepared to perform anytime, anyplace. I very rarely leave the house without some magical items in my pockets - and I perform whenever I get the chance, I'm sure taht this experience was vital in starting me off as a professional entertainer.
