I just watched this, first I want to say once I saw the okito box I knew I was going to love it. I just love those darn boxes. I think Bob Kohler's Brass-Ackwards Production would fit perfectly in the begining, I mean perfectly. You can find it in John Bannon's book Impossibilia on pg 94 if your intersted. Love the idea buddy. Its a keeper in my book. Tim

Thank you fellas!
Tim, everything I do is work I progress.... even stuff I created 15 years ago. Your suggestion will absolutely help. Thanks a lot. Now ... if I could get my hands on that book! Harris, It does play well with laymen! Of course it is not your typical "anywhere, anytime" effect. Man I love those boxes! They serve as my coin purse as well.

I must say I listened with no sound...(at a library where I didn't have my ear phones) The plot seemed evident even with out words with a "surprise" or kicker ending.
Ever since the 70's I too have loved to play and use okito and boston boxes.(yes I sometimes use more than one in a routine.) Thanks again for sharing... I love to hear about works in process and change as our audiences as well as ourselves change. Some of my routines have stayed the same as they were created 30 years ago, while many continually get "tweaked" and adapted. Harris

Rannie,
Your video had me digging out my okito/boston boxes after a decade of retirement (the boxes, not me). Thanks for the inspiration! |

Hi rannie, how are you? )'ve just watched the video and it was awesome, the first time I watched took me a lot by surprise, I was not expecting that for sure. It looked great from the timing, the presentation, the way you acted and moved in a relaxed way and the way you looked surprised too when the coins reappeared out of the box.
Keep up the good work man, you are on the right track. Thanks Pablo

Thank you gentlemen! Its always a pleasure to entertain and well....hopefuly inspire.
Joshua... Don't worry about guys like sankey666!LOL! Probably just a lonely person. I wish him well. I am glad that some boxes are getting out of the drawers. Its a beautiful piece of equiptment filled with so many neglected possibilities. I am quite sure there are more things to discover with those boxes. I can't wait to meet David Roth and Mike Rubinstein this March 7 when they fly to Manila. Thank you all for all the wonderful ideas, comments and suggestions. Your friend from Manila, Rannie

Another great effect is to load the coins and place the uncovered box on the back of your hand twice, first time the coins fall through your hand leaving the box empty. The second time, the box falls through leaving the coins stacked on the back of your hand. I can't remember where I learned it from...might be Dave Neighbors.
