Torn and Restored Newspaper Illusion - The Complete Collection

I don’t know if I should really review this or not.
At this time I will make two comments.

1. I did not know it was a “Magic Makers” disk when
I bought it.

2. I did not know that “Classic” which is one of the (9)
routines shown is really Gene Anderson’s method. They
do not mention Anderson anywhere in the ad material.

At the beginning of the presentation on the DVD they do mention
Gene Anderson’s name but they never say they have his permission
to show his method.

Do they have permission to do this? (I don’t know.)

I have already bought Gene Anderson’s disk and I am
quite upset that this disk may be a rip-off of his work.
(And maybe some others as well.)

I originally ordered this as it did mention it contained the Slydini method.
Although I have the Slydini books I wanted to see a video.

In closing I don’t feel I should review this disk until I find out if
the routines contained on it, especially Gene Anderson’s method was done with
permission or not.

Interesting question. Gene is reworking his book because news papers are a different size now. He's a good guy, very nice. He suggest, if you want to learn his routine, to get either his book or the video (DVD?) from Stevens Magic.

I had been emailing with Gene about something else, so I asked him about this.

It is Magic Makers. Do they ever get permission?

I have bought both books and DVDs that teach the
following methods. (Yes I love tear and restores.)

1. Astor’s Sealed Miracle No. 3 Miracle Paper Tear”. (Don’t care for it.)
2. Gene Anderson - Torn & Restored Newspaper Greater (Magic Video Library)
3. Robert Baxt - Better Newspaper tear
4. Mark Mason - No Tear Torn & Restored Newspaper
5. Joel Bauer’s Trade Show Torn & Restored Newspaper
6. Paul Potassy Newspaper tear
7. Fielding West – Torn & Restored Newspaper
8. Richard Osterlind – Signed Torn & Restored Newpaper
9. Steve Dacri – Torn & Restored Magazine
10. Alex Elmsley – Torn & Restored Newspaper
11. Working on Slydini method at this time.

I have reviewed all of the above and practiced the ones that looked like they would work for me.

I presently perform either the Gene Anderson or the Robert Baxt method for my opening
routine set to music with no talking from me. (Part of a 25 minute show.)
It always gets a great reaction.

It also looks like “Torn and Restored Newspaper Illusion - The Complete Collection”
rips off several other people as well. (As it contains 9 routines.)

I GIVE THIS DISK A ZERO.
I am sorry I bought it.

I am going to do everything I can, NOT to buy any more products from MagicMakers.

Mr. Hannig is echoing what Gene told me, get either his or the Stevens, one one else should be selling his version. Hey, ask Gene when the book release is scheduled if it is, I know he isn't in a rush about it.

In the ad it says they teach this:

a stand-up act

Terry Seabrooke has something like this on his video. I wonder if it is the same.
Hmmmm...

I hope not, I love the Seabrooke gag.

Whew, I thought you were going to say those were the effects they ripped off in this video...
