I'll be in New Orleans for a weekend in early April. Any good shows down there that I should check out? Any magic shops? (Harry Anderson's shop closed, right?)

Hi, I´m from Argentina. In order to ur question, yeah, Harry Anderson´s shop is closed. one of the resasons was that tourists were few (TAll because of Hurracaine Katrina) and because of a deep depression (Same reason).
Also Entergy (in Bankruptcy) increased their bills when in the club building was no electricity at all.
I´m trying to search any other shop ´cos I´ll be In New Orleans in March.
If you have any information plz contact me, I´ll do the same if I heard somethin´about magic shops.
thanks

Try the Moonwalk Mall. There's a Magic shop on the second level. It's a Magic Master's I think...

Plenty of shows on the streets!
I am truly blessed to have a job where people are laughing all the time and everyone believes in magic....Come to think of it, I'm blessed to even have a job.

It's called the Riverwalk (the mall) and Magic Masters is strictly for tourists. Prices are very high, and if you walk in and say "HEY...I'M A MAGICIAN, TOO!", they will generally begin ignoring you at that point.

Contact acecardician here on the Café. He lives right in NOLA and can give you all the info on Magic Mondays with Jon Racherbaumer and the rest of the performers there.

I'm hoping to be there the second week of March...anybody else?

We will be there on Monday March 17th. I'll post more info early next week regarding our public performance there.

I'll be there over the Memorial Day weekend, so I'd like to know about restaurants or shows to take my family to. Plus, I hate flying, so I need something to look forward to on this trip myself!

E-mail Magic Mike. (His website is http://www.themagicmike.com) He's based down there and can tell you if he's performing, or if he knows of any other magicians coming to town.

The best magic can be seen on the streets, some of the best busckers in the world work here. It is starting to get sparce due to the heat (they head out to cooler sposts) but there are a few good ones still in town.

Look up my friend Ace next time you're there. Always some interesting things happen while we're sitting around some bar twisting balloons!

And now, he's the DANCING Stickman! Wow.

In New Orelans, every Monday night, Jon Racherbaumer and the guys(and visiting magicians)meet at the Applebees. Just give me a call, and if I am not working, I can meet you and introduce you to everyone. Jon knows a lot of magicians, so you never know who will be there. It's very informal, and there's lots of magic!
