I have a deck of cards which have regular cards on top of roughed cards in pairs. The cards are supposed to separate with light pressure and a sliding motion, but they sometimes stick and will not easily separate. Have they possibly been "over-roughed" or is there something I can do to make them easier to separate?

They should loosen up with use, have you tried rubbing them together a bit? A lot of times the problem with roughed cards is that your touch is a bit heavy, too much pressure is as bad as too little, you kind of have to get a feel for it.
Also keep them away from heat, that is don't leave them sitting in your car in the sun and the like, that can make them stick more, even ruin them.
