Some time ago, I was looking for a good billet index. Looch contacted me and told me he has one. I got from him a six out (he does 2,3,4,5,6)

The product:
His billet index is easy to use.
Solid plastic, so you'll keep it for the life Smile
No problem to take the right billet. They are easily identified by touch whilst in your pocket. Not revolutionary of course, but if you're looking for a good billet index, solid and easy to use.

6. Hmmm, what do I need a prediction of one of six for..

Really I need a billet index for about 10. I use 10 a lot. Unless I get two sixes. lol. Billet indexes is something I often forget about.

What other suggestions do people have? Does Looch sell his version? How much is it etc?

Im glad you liked it Chris

Vincent I will be soon taking orders for laser cut indexes for ANY number of billets (within reason) Each index will have your name/logo engraved into it so you can identify the orientation by touch whilst in your poket.

This will be in about a month.

All the best buddy

I can't wait!

Will you be including any routines with the product?

Will this be available directly through Looch?

I have a billet index (two actually) that was made by Mark Strivings. It is very well made and fairly easy to construct. Having said that, you still have to get in touch with Mark and that is a notoriously difficult thing to do. If Looch's index is being made to accomodate any number AND has your logo cut into it so you can tell by touch where you are, I say that is probably your best bet.

They will only be avaliable through me buddy. Once I'm up and running and the laser is ready ill let everyone know. Im sure it could be made avaliable with routines.

All the best

Ok, I'm sold. I can't wait to get the index. For a little extra, could one buy the laser?

JK, this is so cool. I almost don't want to post because I would prefer this to go unnoticed but I can't help it.

I am giddy with excitement! Put me on the list. I want this ASAP, especially with the pedigree of this particular creator.

I don't know Looch personally (or non-personally for that matter) but I do trust him with every bit of totality possible.

This sounds great mate.

Funny thing is I was fiddling about with bits of card earlier, trying to make an index for a kicker ending to a routine... shan't go in to the ins an out of it here.

Can you define "within reason"? 24? Is that within reason?

And how about hiding the index in an envelope, or is this specifically an in the pocket thing?

I know a guy (not me…that’s for sure) who has some great expertise performing with reasonably large billet indexes. He does some really incredible stuff with devices of this nature.

Well with the particular design I’ve tested, 24 is too many, it would be possible to do a 12 index for pocket use, so you would need 2, one in each pocket. This depends on the size of your particular billets though.

I'm currently researching the type of Thermoplastic. I'm leaning towards a granite grey with gold core (for the engraving) approx 2mm so it should be strong but still thin for discretion. don't want to appear as though your solving a rubics cube in your pocket Smile

An accompanying booklet is also being planned.

All the best

Has there been any traction on this product, or is it DBA?

Thanks for your interest.

I’m glad to say the project is very much alive. A batch were made and sent to a series of working Pros, firstly to receive feedback and also to generate a collaboration of ideas and effects to put into a booklet for them. The booklet is being collated and these will be out for Mindvention. Here's a quote from one of the Beta testers...

"When I received two of Looch's new pocket indexes, I couldn't believe my eyes that they were personalized with my name! Getting beyond that, these devices are surefire and completely practical. Any effect where you need to index between 10 and 20 different slips can be handled efficiently and neatly. I tried them out in the real world and they work great!

My highest endorsement of this new product.

Richard Osterlind"

These do sound really cool.

I have only recently discovered the 'power' of a good index.
