Yes indeed!
Well I'm not sure I'll be able to succeed everytime right now, but I will practice! But it's tremendous that the first time I tried that out it worked!!! Anyway... And Martin King, there are nearly 35 000 members in the Café... So do not worry... There always be people who will not agree with you... Some others surely will! Cheers! |

Dear Martin -
I was also fascinated by the way Derren Brown performed this trick. His patter was entertaining and so precisely used that many people out there on non-magical forums discuss NLP as the "secret" method being used (Lol). Derren performs a very similar effect with a YES and a NO card where he puts a card down and has Steve Merchant guess which card it was. He fools him over 4 rounds and even offers a 1,000 pound reward in case Steve would get it right (which obviously he doesn't). The later indicates to me that Derren uses a 100% foolproof method for his performance. You may want to check this trick out on youtube in case you have not seen it. In fact I was more fascinated by the trick with the 2 cards than with the coins. To perform the YES and NO card trick I have purchased Mozique's "Decisions" from Alakazam Magic. At less than EUR 30 it is very affordable, works 100% and nobody will ever find out how you did it. So if you liked Derren Brown's performance on the "which hand" trick this may be for you as well. It certainly was for me. Best, Giacomo |

Don't we all do this to some extent? I'm guessing we all got started in magic by seeing somebody perform a miracle and wanting to do it ourselves. I think you were being a little harsh... he wasn't asking people to just tell him how to do it, he was asking to be pointed in the right direction. You also seemed to "darn" him both ways, if he was interested in finding out the method and not performing the effect, it's only for his selfish "personal satisfaction"; if he was interested in performing the effect, he's ripping off Derren Brown. Personally I like to learn as much as I can, and that learning does give me personal satisfaction, as well as inspiration to do the best job that I can. I'm not saying you need to tell me everything that you've learned over the years, of course not, but can you really blame somebody for being interested? I certainly wouldn't. |
