Please accept my most sincere condolences on the loss of Sam may he rest in peace and thank you for the memory of him in that film.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Vandy, do you have any more information on him that's appropriate to share?

I would wager that talking peas and bottle caps over a beer with Sam would have been a great way to pass some time.

Not much. He passed unexpectedly of natural causes and funeral services will be this Friday. Other than that, I don't know much.

As far as him and his crew, not much I can say. He worked often and hit most of the big sporting events. He was at the Superbowl again this year where he does well every year. He had March Madness and the Kentucky Derby coming up. I'm not sure if the crew will go on without him right now.

In the Bonnaroo video you see Sam turning out some new guys in the crew. He was building a racially diverse crew to open the door to more venues. He was setting his sights on NASCAR events etc.

People with sharp ears will hear Sam say something pretty incredible to the tall guy next to him at around the 3:48 mark.

Vandy I never said he was a chump, , if that's how it sounded it wasn't my intention.

No, not at all. My statement wasn't in response to your post.

Iamslow,

Would you be kind enough to share the name of the video in which you spoke about?

Sorry to hear of Sam's death. Don Driver sent me the link to the video last year and I was impressed with Sam's work. I would have liked to have seen him in person.

I have had a problem registering for the Café because of having gmail. my friend gave me an addy on his server so I could register.

Hello everyone. I worked with the man you know from the video as Gambling
Sam. He turned me out to this game last year, and I spent a lot of time on the road with him since then. I've learned so much from him, and he's the closest thing I have to a friend in this game. It's said we're in it to make money, not friends, but he sure treated me like one. The wisdom and knowledge he shared with me in the short time I knew him will undoubtedly save me much danger and trouble as I go forward in life. Every player on the highway knew him, and everyone respected him. He will be missed.

Vandy, thanks for bringing my announcement over here while I couldn't.

Sincerely,

B
