I really enjoy the sliding knot routine called Knotty Knot by Aldo Colombini. Really easy to learn and uses a single rope with and optional extra knot. Great for impromtu performance with a single rope! Hope this helps!

To further complicate matters most of the moves of George Sands were done with one piece of rope and a pair of scissors.

There was "sandsational," and "Ropesational." One was the standard with cuts, the other was no cuts. Both are available from George's son Allan http://www.alansands.com/store/georgesands.html in one book along with a section on threading the needle. Excellent book.

I bought the George Sands DVD from his son Allan Sands, and watching that DVD changed the way I do several of the rope tricks that I have doing for years.

Try Flip's "O" rope for something really different and bizarre. Also, since I know you are really into the bizarre, do some psychic surgery to produce the rope from inside your stomach. As a finale, you can do Bob Sheet's "Hang 'Em High" rope through body and really rip yourself in half.

For use in the dungeon, there are some simple rope escapes shown on the Wiz Kid Rope DVD on my site, or help the Wiz Kids out and order it directly from them: http://www.wizkidzinc.com/DVDs/rope01/wizkidsROPE01.htm

Check out http://www.magiccoach.com for the HUNTER KNOT routine. It's a nice effect he uses for trade shows, etc.

Higley- man master of the bizarre- Also Fibre Optics is a great DVD to give you some great stuff to add to the other pieces of the "Prof. Nightmare".

Rope is simple elegant and for the most part very examinable. Packs small, plays big.

Have fun my friend.

If you PM me I will send you a bit of business that I use that gets great audience feedback...

So you disappear for six months and don't say hellow to an old busking friend. What's up with that? Are you a hibernating bear that just woke up?

The easiest and best routine for Higley is Sands. Here's my favorite easy effect.

I use Sands moves, some of my own, Schindler lines and patter, and just casual impromptu. Once I have the piece, I am set to do Sands classic.

Of course, the funniest one rope effect is professor Cheers. I have done that after a rope effect and brought down the house.

Leaping Lizards Magic is currently remastering my home made rope video in DVD format. Around fifty effects with rope, rings and silks. Watch for it soon.

I used to end my Professor Cheers with a pair of panty hose tied at the end.
This was back when Joe Namath was doing a TV ad in which he wore panty hose. I claimed BRoadway Joe had taught me the trick. Women in the audience got a kick out of it.
